About Shanghai Express

Located at 10845 State Hwy 76 in Branson West, Missouri, Shanghai Express is a Chinese restaurant that serves the local community with its array of Chinese culinary offerings. Accessible by phone at (417) 272-9889 or mobile at +1 417-272-9889, Shanghai Express operates within the competitive landscape of Chinese restaurants, aiming to provide a convenient option for those seeking Chinese fare in the area.

As a Chinese Restaurant, Shanghai Express primarily offers a menu that typically includes a variety of traditional and Americanized Chinese dishes. The services provided generally revolve around both dine-in and takeout options, catering to the diverse preferences of its clientele. For those who choose to dine in, the restaurant aims to provide a space where customers can sit and enjoy their meals. For those on the go, takeout services offer a quick and efficient way to pick up food. The restaurant's service model is designed to facilitate the rapid preparation and delivery of orders, aiming to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment often associated with "express" establishments.

Regarding the environment of Shanghai Express, public feedback indicates a varied perception. Some reviews suggest that the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the dining area and facilities could be improved. Phrases such as "Clean this place up people! Wow just wow! Filthy!" point to concerns about the tidiness and presentation of the establishment. This suggests that while the restaurant provides a physical space for dining, the aesthetic and hygienic aspects of the environment might not consistently meet all customer expectations. It is typical for Chinese restaurants, especially those with an "express" model, to prioritize efficiency, but the dining atmosphere remains a key component of the overall customer experience. A clean, well-maintained dining area is generally perceived as conducive to a more enjoyable meal.

The services offered by Shanghai Express encompass the preparation and sale of various Chinese dishes. This includes popular staples like fried rice, lo mein, and a range of chicken, beef, and pork entrees. The emphasis is on providing ready-to-eat meals, suitable for individual consumption or family dining. The service pace, as suggested by the "Express" in its name, aims to be quick, which can be a significant factor for customers looking for a fast meal. The accessibility through phone and mobile ordering streamlines the process for takeout, allowing customers to place their orders in advance for convenient pickup.

The features of Shanghai Express, as gleaned from customer reviews, primarily revolve around the food itself. The menu likely offers a selection of common Chinese-American dishes. However, customer experiences regarding the taste and quality of the food have been inconsistent. For instance, one review notes, "Order combo fried rice and the portion was good but my food had absolutely no flavor!! No veggies in the rice and not a spec of seasoning on any meat. Very bland and watery tasting leaving me very disappointed and hungry tonight." This highlights concerns about the flavor profile and seasoning of some dishes. Another review critically states, "Orange Chicken was inedible. Sweet and Sour Sauce? This is your idea of orange chicken? 8 little over cooked chicken pieces. $13.99!!!" This feedback suggests issues with food preparation, portion size relative to cost, and the adherence to expected taste profiles for classic dishes like Orange Chicken. Furthermore, the comment "Absolutely terrible food. Holy buckets of onions. This is after we ate. Over 50% was raw onions and green peppers. Very little of anything else," points to imbalances in ingredients and potentially undercooked vegetables in certain dishes.

These reviews collectively paint a picture of a restaurant with varying food quality. While some customers might find certain aspects satisfactory, others have expressed significant disappointment regarding the flavor, texture, and composition of their meals. For Chinese restaurants, the authenticity and balance of flavors are crucial features, and consistency in these areas is often a key driver of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Regarding promotional information, specific details about current promotions for Shanghai Express are not explicitly available from the provided information. Generally, Chinese restaurants might offer various promotions to attract and retain customers, such as lunch specials, family meal deals, or discounts for online orders or larger quantities. However, without specific data, it is not possible to detail any active promotional campaigns by Shanghai Express. Patrons interested in potential promotions would typically need to inquire directly with the restaurant via their phone numbers, (417) 272-9889 or +1 417-272-9889, or check any local listings or online platforms where the restaurant might advertise.

In summary, Shanghai Express, located at 10845 State Hwy 76 in Branson West, MO, operates as a Chinese restaurant offering both dine-in and takeout services. While it aims to provide convenient Chinese cuisine, customer feedback suggests a mixed experience regarding both the dining environment's cleanliness and the consistency of food quality and flavor. As with any dining establishment, individual experiences can vary, and prospective customers may wish to consider a range of reviews before forming their own opinion.

Food tastes wonderful, that hasn’t changed but the portions, holy minnow! Y’all really out here charging $11.99 for six tiny pieces of meat???? The crab Rangoon's were light on filling but super tasty, and the egg rolls were full and delicious. Tasted fresh, taste is not a problem they are consistently delicious, but I really hope this was just lazy serving rather than an example of their new portion sizes. (The messiness in below pictures is not their fault I live on a curvy road) Edit: I gave them another chance, prices are at 12.99 for a combo and again only six pieces of meat. It’s a shame because this really did use to be one of my favorite spots. Unfortunately after spending $20 (an adult combo with 6 nuggetish size bites, and a kids meal with only three pieces) I probably won’t be eating here again. I won’t say never but that price to quantity ratio is off enough it’s not likely.

Pricing is way to high. Portions are small 13.99 for a sesame with 7 pieces of chicken and rice is a bit high in my opinion but to go out with a bang I still got full and it tastes great.

Food is awesome. Would recommend this place to just about anyone. It’s my wife and is favorite place to grab dinner in Branson west. That being said, It’s currently 5:58 on a Monday night and I have no idea why they’re closed. This happens from time to time. Pull in to pick up drive thru only to be met with a sharpied sign on the door and on the drive thru sign that says “closed at 5”. It’s kind of annoying that google says “close at 8” and the door on the restaurant says “close at 8” but sometimes they’re a just closed. This obviously is not the first time this has happened to me. 3 different cars have parked and attempted to walk in since I’ve been here to type this. Just a heads up, call before you make the trip out here
