We moved down here about almost a year ago and was told about this restaurant. We decided to eat there and were extremely happy. The food was amazing. You get so much more for your money and plenty to take home. Our server was great and was able to answer all of our questions. We are looking forward to going there again. I highly recommend going there.
After a busy day of client calls, I met a group of friends for dinner. Sebastian's is a unique place. From the decor to the food to the attentive staff, the evening was outstanding. The potato pancakes are some of the best I've ever had. The pork medallions with rahm sauce is absolutely delicious. My meal was complete with the apple strudel. If you’re looking for authentic German food, I highly recommend. But make sure you have a reservation because it's always busy!
Very busy so make a reservation! The atmosphere is a little overwhelming and the dolls in the bathroom felt kinda creepy. But the waiter was nice. My husband loved the potato soup. We received salad and the soup fast, but dinner took a lot longer than expected. But all in all a delicious meal and cool atmosphere.oh and it’s BYOB.
This is a German restaurant embodying maximalism at its best. There are decorations and dolls everywhere. It's impossible to look around at everything in one sitting. I have never seen such a visually interesting place in my life. Every square inch has something new to look at. A fun detail is that the waitress wears a gingham dress and old-style lace apron. It's complete immersion in a rustic, folk-style setting. The restaurant is homely and family oriented, perfect for bringing the whole family for the holidays. The decor could make this place a tourist attraction for doll lovers. Food-wise, it's very filling portions. We ended up packing three boxes for two people. We had the pork cordon bleu schnitzel and veal/wienver schnitzel. The pork one was a giant round stout log, while the veal one was thin. Both were generously breaded and cooked perfectly, with a lovely pairing gravy. One of the schnitzels came with potato noodles, which were very tasty. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the soups we ordered, but my dad really enjoyed them. We also ordered potato pancakes, which are kind of like giant circular hashbrowns. They weren't bad, but personally weren't my favorite. The strawberry cake we packed up for dessert seemed more like a turnover rather than a cake. Either way, it was incredibly tasty, with a generous amount of whipped cream and syrupy strawberries between flaky layers of puff pastry. Service was prompt and our waitress cared a lot about explaining the dishes to us and making sure we were enjoying the food. I liked that we got a water jug to ourselves (I don't like having to wait for someone to pour water for me) and the water jug had lemon and some herbs in it, making it taste more flavorful and refreshing. I think my main gripe is that the restaurant only takes cash, which is quite unusual post-COVID. There is an ATM outside, but I don't always have my debit card on me, and certainly not enough cash for the meal, so it's a bit dicey in my view. I'd definitely prefer an option to pay by card. One item of note is that every 3rd Sunday of the month, there's a Sunday brunch which requires reservations, and they're skipping January due to slower business then. For non-peak times, you don't need a reservation, but the restaurant fills up quickly during peak times, so I'd recommend reserving just to be on the safe side. Overall, this is a great place to bring the family, especially considering the price point. We (party of 2) paid $110 total including tips, and ordered far more food than we could finish, so I'd say that $20-$40 per person, depending on if you decide to get appetizers and dessert (which you may not, given how filling the mains are) is a reasonable amount to expect to pay. For that price point, you are not getting such an authentic German experience anywhere else nearby.
Absolutely wonderful family-style German restaurant. We drove 40 miles to have a birthday dinner for a friend there, and did not regret it. Excellent schnitzel, wonderful sauerbraten, friendly, even fun, staff. Our party included a first-generation Hungarian-American who raved about the goulash, comparing it favorably to his mother's. The only complaint I could possibly make is my disappointment that they didn't have potato dumplings on the menu. Just be forewarned -- they are cash only, no credit cards.
