About Salem Lowe

Salem Lowe is a Chinese restaurant situated at 197 Fort Ave in Salem, Massachusetts. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Salem Lowe has a history in the local area, though recent reviews indicate a potential change in ownership or culinary approach. Notably, no phone number is provided in the available information for direct contact.

Information regarding the specific environment of Salem Lowe is somewhat limited. One positive review mentions "The willows is always beautiful," which refers to the Salem Willows Park, where the restaurant is located. This suggests that Salem Lowe benefits from a scenic location within a popular local area known for its waterfront views and recreational activities. The ambiance might be influenced by its proximity to the park, potentially offering a pleasant setting for diners, especially those familiar with the Willows. However, the reviews do not provide specific details about the restaurant's interior decor or overall atmosphere. The stark contrast in opinions regarding the food quality might overshadow any specific comments about the environment.

The services offered by Salem Lowe likely include takeout, given that customers refer to "ordering from here." It is reasonable to assume that, as a traditional Chinese restaurant, they also offer dine-in services for those who wish to eat at the location, particularly given its location within a potentially scenic area like the Willows. However, without a listed phone number, confirming these service options directly is not possible based on the provided information. Potential customers may need to visit the location to inquire about dine-in availability and hours of operation.

The features of Salem Lowe, as a Chinese restaurant, are centered around its menu. Customer reviews provide contrasting perspectives on the food, particularly concerning changes that may have occurred. One long-time patron expressed strong disappointment with a recent order of chicken fingers from the "NEW salem lowe that opened up today, Sunday May 28th 2023." This reviewer described the chicken fingers as being in "little bits and pieces," oily, and lacking the taste of chicken. They lamented the change from what the "old owners originally served," which they recalled as being properly battered, crunchy, and consisting of solid pieces of white meat. This negative feedback suggests a significant alteration in the preparation and quality of at least one popular dish, potentially impacting the authenticity and the expectations of long-standing customers.

Conversely, another reviewer expressed strong positive sentiments, stating, "I Love Salem Lowe! Best chicken chop suey and onion steak." This indicates that Salem Lowe, at least at some point, was known for these specific dishes. The reviewer also mentioned it as their "first choice for mother's day and my birthday when my son takes me out," highlighting a tradition and positive association with the restaurant, possibly under previous ownership or with different preparation of these favored dishes. The juxtaposition of these two reviews suggests a potential shift in the restaurant's culinary style or quality, particularly concerning the chicken fingers.

The reference to a "NEW salem lowe" suggests a recent change in ownership or management, which could explain the alterations in food preparation noted by the dissatisfied customer. This transition appears to have impacted the consistency and quality of some of their offerings, at least in the opinion of this particular reviewer. It is important for potential customers to be aware of these differing experiences, especially if they have prior familiarity with Salem Lowe under previous management.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts for Salem Lowe. Without a phone number or website listed in the provided information, it is impossible to ascertain if they have any ongoing specials, lunch menus, or other promotions. Customers would likely need to visit the restaurant directly to inquire about any current deals or special offerings.

In summary, Salem Lowe is a Chinese restaurant located in Salem, Massachusetts, within the Salem Willows Park. Customer reviews present a divided perspective, with one long-time patron expressing significant disappointment with a recent order of chicken fingers, citing a decline in quality and authenticity compared to previous offerings. On the other hand, another reviewer expressed strong love for Salem Lowe, specifically praising their chicken chop suey and onion steak, and indicating a positive history with the establishment. The mention of a "NEW salem lowe" suggests a recent change that may have influenced the food preparation. Potential customers should be aware of these contrasting experiences. Without a listed phone number, direct contact for inquiries about services, hours, or promotions is not possible based on the provided information. Individuals interested in Salem Lowe may need to visit the location to gather more current details.

The contrasting reviews highlight the potential impact of changes within a restaurant, particularly on the perception of its long-standing customers. While some dishes may still be well-regarded, as indicated by the positive review, other previously popular items may have undergone significant alterations that have not been well-received. For new customers, the lack of a phone number for inquiries might be an initial barrier. The scenic location within the Willows could be a draw, but the uncertainty surrounding the current food quality, especially concerning previously favored dishes, warrants consideration.

To the NEW salem lowe that opened up today, Sunday May 28th 2023 we got chicken fingers and they are in these little bits and pieces and they melt in your mouth, they're oily, and taste nothing like chicken. Even after 6 attempts of biting into different ones, even trying the duck sauce with them. These are NOT chicken fingers.. Bleh! What did you guys do?! Why change what the old owners originally served?! Their chicken fingers were battered just right, had a crunch, and you would get a solid piece of white meat that would spear out from the batter with each bite. Do better New Salem Lowe. I hate to be harsh, but you changed the authenticity.

So when the new owners first took over I went in as I was told they had the original owner's recipes and not much was going to change. The experience and the food was horrible. Waiting a considerable amount of time, in hopes that things might get better. After reading a few posts saying that it had I dared try for a second time. First of all it's very inconvenient that they shut the phone off with the new ownership. I ordered with a delivery company and wanted to add to the order and wasn't able to do so. After ordering two combination plates at a whopping over $40 I can honestly say I have never had worse food in my life!! I'm not even sure what kind of chicken fingers they were selling but that is certainly not normal. Both combination plates were completely inedible and were thrown in the trash. My son is currently at McDonald's! Please do us all a favor and take the sign down you are not Salem Lowe's 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

What a great recommendation from Google. Amazing to think that something like a simple chop suey sandwich could make one long for another after 3 long years. Cannot wait to bring the kids back to Salem Willows and load up again.

I was so Happy to find that we could still get our very Favorite Chop Suey Sandwich at Salem Lowe at Salem Willows. I bought two, one for my husband and one for myself. They were Awesome as usual. Yes, the price has gone up from about two dollars to Five but what on this Planet hasn't gone up and I could tell right away that it had more chicken in it then before which is Great. Also the woman that wanted on me was very Sweet and Nice to order from. I'm beyond Happy that This Important part of Salem Willows remains after the people that use to make it Retired. It seriously is one of our Favorite reasons for going to Salem Willows. Thank You Salem Lowe for keeping it going. You are Appreciated. 😁
