About Sakura Japanese Steak, Seafood House & Sushi Bar

Sakura Japanese Steak, Seafood House & Sushi Bar is located at 629 Berlin - Cross Keys Rd, Sicklerville, NJ 08081, USA. They can be contacted at (856) 404-9383 or +1 856-404-9383. It is important to note that despite being listed under the category of Chinese Restaurant, the name and reviews clearly indicate it is a Japanese restaurant offering steak, seafood, and sushi, with hibachi dining.

One customer on their third visit shared a mixed experience. They found the sushi to be "phenomenal" and noted its proximity to their job as a reason for returning. However, they described the wait staff as "extremely LAZY," mentioning a waitress who did not introduce herself. They experienced slow sushi preparation, waiting over 45 minutes for only six pieces of raw fish, which they attributed to the wait staff rather than the "hardest working" Sushi & Hibachi Chefs. They also observed staff visibly using their phones and stated that their first visit for Hibachi was the best of their experiences.

Another reviewer commented that the "food" (presumably lunch) was "alill over priced" with "not many things to choose from." While they found "inside the place is beautiful for sure," they felt "$120 for 3 lunches is a little much for Chinese I would think in that location they would have more options because of the amount of restaurants there around," suggesting a perception that the cuisine and pricing did not align with expectations for a Chinese restaurant in that area, despite acknowledging the attractive interior.

Based on these reviews, Sakura Japanese Steak, Seafood House & Sushi Bar in Sicklerville, NJ, is known for its phenomenal sushi and offers hibachi dining in a restaurant with a beautiful interior. However, there are concerns about the wait staff being lazy and causing slow service, particularly for sushi. Lunch prices are perceived by one reviewer as a little high with limited options, and the overall cost was considered expensive for what was thought to be Chinese food by one customer, despite the restaurant being Japanese. Local users looking for good sushi and hibachi in an attractive setting should consider Sakura, but be aware of potential slow service and perceived high lunch prices with limited choices.

The environment is described as having a beautiful interior. Services include hibachi dining, a sushi bar, and standard dining area service. A key feature is the phenomenal sushi, with hibachi also being a popular option. Drawbacks include reports of lazy and inattentive wait staff leading to slow service, particularly for sushi, and lunch prices being perceived as a little high with limited options. I came here for the third time today! I honestly hate leaving one star reviews, but this one had to be done . I’ve experienced the three different types of dining experience offered at Sakura. 1. I’ve dined with my family for hibachi 2. I sat at the bar for lunch 3. Today I had to sit in the dining area at a table because I was told the bar area was closed & needed to be cleaned off. The bar area was never cleaned off for the duration of my visit. I enjoy the sushi & it's close to my job, so I came here for the third time. However, the staff is extremely LAZY . The waitress never introduced herself to me and as you can see on the receipt, there’s no name. The restaurant itself is not very busy, at least not for the three visits that I’ve attended. I have to admit the sushi is phenomenal. The Sushi & Hibachi Chefs are probably the hardest working employees . However, the sushi takes way too long to prepare. I only ordered six pieces of raw fish, which took over 45 minutes. I don’t blame the Sushi chef. That is definitely on the wait staff. I was literally the only person in the dining area; the bar was closed, and nobody was at the hibachi. Of all my visits, my first visit to Hibachi was the best. PS to the staff: Please get off your phones or at least go in the back where no one can see you, especially when people are waiting for service. I have attached photos of the phenomenal sushi and terrible service.

We had a very nice experience here. We came at 8pm on a Sunday and it was not crowded, as it usually is during dinner hours. We got the Hibachi and the food was prepared right in front of us by a very friendly Hibachi Chef. He made many jokes and we had a good time with another couple that was seated across from us that we did not know. The atmosphere was hip and the restaurant loomed very modern.

I have a gluten allergy and it can be scary to dine out. The staff were so knowledgeable and attentive and made sure my order was right/safe to eat. The food was amazing and portions were big. The sushi was fresh and they even had gluten free soy sauce for dipping. I will definitely be going back! Thank you Sakura!
