About Saint Louis Kitchen (St Louis Kitchen on Natural Bridge)

Saint Louis Kitchen, also known as St Louis Kitchen on Natural Bridge, is a Chinese restaurant situated at 8624 Natural Bridge Rd in St. Louis, Missouri. Categorized as a "Chinese Restaurant," it aims to provide a range of Chinese-American dishes to the local community. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences appear to vary, with some praising certain aspects of the food and service while others express significant concerns regarding cleanliness and food preparation practices. Potential customers should consider these contrasting viewpoints when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.

Regarding the environment of Saint Louis Kitchen, one reviewer explicitly states, "Why is it so dirty? There’s junk in customer facing areas & I could bet if they were in a different neighborhood it would be cleaner." This paints a concerning picture of the restaurant's cleanliness, particularly in areas visible to customers. The same reviewer further mentions seeing "medicine bottles all over the place," adding to the negative impression of the environment. These observations suggest that the restaurant may have issues with maintaining a clean and organized customer space, which could be a significant deterrent for many potential diners. While another reviewer did not comment on cleanliness, the detailed and negative account raises a serious point of consideration for anyone planning to dine in or even pick up food.

In terms of services, Saint Louis Kitchen offers both dine-in and takeout options, as indicated by the customer reviews. One reviewer mentioned dining in for lunch, while another ordered takeout. The availability of delivery services is not explicitly stated in the provided feedback, but it is a common offering for many Chinese restaurants and could be an option worth inquiring about by contacting the restaurant directly at (314) 426-6688 or +1 314-426-6688. One positive aspect of the service mentioned was that it was "great" and "speedy," even for a first-time customer who was not of Asian descent, addressing a potential concern about differential treatment. This suggests that while there may be issues with the physical environment, some customers have found the staff to be efficient and courteous.

The features of Saint Louis Kitchen are reflected in the specific dishes ordered and reviewed by customers. One customer enjoyed the "black pepper chicken combo" during lunchtime, noting that for the price of $7.55 before taxes, the plate had a "generous amount of both fried rice and chicken." They found the dish to be "perfectly sauced and seasoned" but noted that the "meat" was "overcooked and dry." Despite this flaw, this customer stated they would "recommend it to everyone" and would eat there again if in the area, highlighting a positive overall experience with this particular dish.

In contrast, another reviewer had a much more negative experience with the "teriyaki chicken." They had assumed it would be boneless with rice but found it to be "the same chicken pieces battered and deep fried tossed in sauce." While they conceded that "the sauce was good," the preparation was not what they expected. This reviewer also raised significant concerns about food handling practices, claiming to have seen "that they sit the chicken on the floor and who knows how long it’s been there what’s running around." This is an extremely serious allegation that, if true, would pose significant health risks and understandably deter customers. This individual stated they would "not be returning" due to this observation.

Other dishes mentioned include the "vegetable fried rice," which one reviewer felt "had a lot of veggies at the top" but noted that "the rice could use some flavor sesame or five spice." This suggests that while the quantity of vegetables was satisfactory, the overall flavor profile of the fried rice could be improved according to this customer's preference. The "St. Paul" sandwich was also mentioned positively, with the reviewer stating, "The St. Paul was good you can’t go wrong with an egg." This indicates that this local favorite is a reliable option at Saint Louis Kitchen.

The conflicting reviews make it challenging to definitively assess the overall quality and features of Saint Louis Kitchen. While some customers have found certain dishes enjoyable and the service to be good, serious concerns have been raised about cleanliness and food handling practices. Potential customers will need to weigh these contrasting experiences when considering this restaurant.

Currently, there is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at Saint Louis Kitchen. Customers interested in knowing about any specials or deals should contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. It might also be worthwhile to check local online food ordering platforms or social media, if the restaurant has a presence, to see if any promotions are advertised there. Given the mixed feedback, any potential promotional offers might be an additional factor for customers to consider.

In conclusion, Saint Louis Kitchen (St Louis Kitchen on Natural Bridge) at 8624 Natural Bridge Rd in St. Louis presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. While one customer enjoyed the black pepper chicken combo and praised the service, another raised significant concerns about the restaurant's cleanliness and food handling practices, as well as the preparation of the teriyaki chicken. The vegetable fried rice received a neutral comment regarding flavor, and the St. Paul sandwich was considered a safe bet. Potential customers should carefully consider these varying experiences and perhaps inquire further about the restaurant's current practices and standards before deciding to dine in or order from Saint Louis Kitchen. Contacting them directly at (314) 426-6688 or +1 314-426-6688 for more information is recommended.

I ordered and enjoyed black pepper chicken combo during lunch time. The meal was $7.55 before taxes. The plate had a generous amount of both fried rice and chicken. Perfectly sauced and seasoned but overcooked and dry meat. Service was great. I left Saint Louis years ago and this is the first place I've visited in years. I'd recommend it to everyone.

Why is it so dirty? There’s junk in customer facing areas & I could bet if they were in a different neighborhood it would be cleaner. looking past the mess, there was medicine bottles all over the place. They cut the chicken in half and count it as an individual piece which is definitely not cool. The chicken had a funny taste & color to it. I ordered teriyaki chicken and assumed it would be boneless with rice but it was the same chicken pieces battered and deep fried tossed in sauce. The sauce was good. The vegetable fried rice had a lot of veggies at the top the rice could use some flavor sesame or five spice- my opinion. The St. Paul was good you can’t go wrong with an egg. I won’t be returning after seeing that they sit the chicken on the floor and who knows how long it’s been there what’s running around. I should have canceled the order then. The veggies were the best part.

Place needs better cleaning. I had to ask for napkins so I could clean my table off. I sat at the one that seemed the cleanest. Their defunct buffet area was cluttered with papers and "stuff". Most of the tables and chairs were pushed against the wall, their menu had a series of items crossed out. Perhaps they are transitioning to take out only. The service was about normal for this type of establishment. The food was okay. Preparation of the food could be seen. The food itself is a matter of preference. I drove there because the place I usually go to changed cooks and it's not to my liking.
