Saffron Indian Cuisine

Saffron Indian Cuisine in Kalamazoo is a nice spot with a good ambiance. The food is okay, but it was missing some flavors and wasn’t as spicy as I expected. The menu has a good variety, with options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you have a pleasant dining experience. I would come again and try some different dishes next time. If you’re in the area and craving Indian food, it’s worth a visit!

I used to love the food there and was willing to travel 20 minutes for it. Unfortunately, the quality and taste are no longer what they used to be, and the service has also declined. The food is now substandard. When I bring these issues to the team's attention, their response doesn’t start with an apology; instead, it’s always, “That’s how it’s supposed to be,” showing no remorse or understanding. Having grown up eating Indian food at various restaurants, I consider myself knowledgeable about its taste. However, I have encountered a problematic dish during every visit over the past few months. Most recently, much of my food didn't taste good and, quite frankly, wasn’t worth the price I paid. I have decided that I will no longer be visiting this place.

We enjoyed the authentic Indian dishes. I ordered the Hurly- Burly Lamb Chili Fried Curry, it was not very hot but enjoyable nonetheless. My wife ordered the Gourmet Lamb Biryani which was mild (as requested). She thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent.

Really loved the food, prices were reasonable, the staff was nice enough to warn me what scale of spicy my food was before I ordered it (and it was amazing). There were a lot of different choices and foods that I hadn't tried before, so was able to sample a good amount of dishes and a spicy yogurt drink that I really enjoyed, and the dessert was really refreshing. Staff was very attentive without being overly pushy as well.

Our waiter took along time to take our order but I did appreciate that our food was right out. All of our food tasted great! Although in my opinion a bit pricey for the portion size and rice was an extra cost.
