Ordered the Thom Kha and Laab Esaan, both very delicious dishes. Had them both at spicy level 3, which was a perfect medium, while still being enjoyable.
This is the best Thai restaurant in Pensacola. It is a nice, small and cozy spot. I was greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant was a little crowded during lunch times and I got the last available table. My waitress Maddie was nice, helpful and personable. I ordered the shrimp pad thai- level 3 spicy, and it was flavorful and delicious. Perfectly cooked noodles and it had a nice amount of shrimp and the spice level was just right. I also ordered the spring rolls and they were equally delicious. They were nice and crispy on the outside and full of vegetables. I will definately be back to try other menu items. I was staring at everyone's dishes as they came out- everything looked soooo good. The restrooms were also very clean and smelled good. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are looking for good Thai, SaBai Thai is where you need to be.
I posted a 5 star review for SaBai almost a year ago. That's why I was excited to go here again for a special occasion during their 5th Anniversary celebration - however, this restaurant has gone down hill SO much that I'm editing my review as such: The food was sub par. Chef's Curry was bland and watery and not even lukewarm when served. I was also informed that they were "out of soy sauce" for the rice (how is that possible?) The "Basil Rolls" looked and tasted nothing like the basil rolls from a year ago. They were filled with iceberg lettuce and carrots and loosely rolled so they fell apart when picked up. They were also cut like sushi rolls instead of the way they always served them in previous times (see the two photos I posted here - the one with the two long basil rolls is from a year ago and the other photo is the poor attempt at rolls two days ago). I also ordered four orders of the basil rolls and when it arrived one plate had 7 pieces "sushi style" and the other had 8 - I'm not sure why one plate had more than the other. The service was horrible, they were either understaffed or the new staff wasn't trained well enough to provide good service. The "atmosphere" was disgusting. We were sitting across from the two bathrooms and one of them was "out of service." The other bathroom was emitting a stench of a backed up toilet. I was completely embarrassed dining there with my guests who traveled from Europe to dine with me in what I had described as a terrific restaurant. I was wrong. Whatever changed with SaBai it changed for the worse and it needs to be fixed.
Visited this gem while vacationing in Pensacola with my two sisters, and was blown away by the service, the menu selection, & the amazing food! One of my sisters is vegan and she was ecstatic to see all the vegan options on the menu. For appetizers, we ordered spring rolls, golden bags with crab meat, the tofo triangle; all were exceptional! For our lunches, we all ordered the Chef’s curry and loved every single bite. We enjoyed our lunch outside, under the comfort of umbrellas, and had such a great time. From start to finish, our experience was exceptional. Highly recommended!
Haven't been here for a few months and now kicking myself why we waited so long! Great service. Food is amazing, fresh, and cooked to order. Always comes out hot. Drunken noodles and Basil fried rice are our favorites. Cozy atmosphere is lovely. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked, even with women's products (this is such a small but important detail!!!!). Keep up the good work 👏
