About Royal China Restaurant

Royal China Restaurant is located at 6025 Royal Ln #201, Dallas, TX 75230, USA. They can be contacted at (214) 361-1771 or +1 214-361-1771. They offer meal delivery services in addition to dining in. Customer reviews present a somewhat mixed but generally positive view.

One customer who had lunch at Royal China found it "decent food" with prices that were "normal for this area in Preston Hollow." They described the service as "good but not stellar," noting that their waiter "had too many tables" but was "kind." They highly recommended the "shrimp dumplings" as "excellent" and reasonably priced at $12, and also enjoyed a "raspberry mule" as "great." However, they found their entree, the "General Kaos chicken," to be "mid," noting it wasn't very hot or spicy upon arrival and required a request for more chili oil. This reviewer concluded that if they were to return, it would "only be for dumplings."

In contrast, another customer from New York, accustomed to "exceptional Chinese food," stated that Royal China has "some of the best Chinese food I have had in Texas." They praised the warm greeting upon arrival and the "very good table service." They appreciated that the restaurant doesn't rush the meal, allowing time to enjoy each course, with appetizers, soup, and entrees spaced out. They found the food "all reasonably priced" with "more than reasonable" portion sizes, specifically mentioning the "beef with broccoli, mushrooms and fried rice, along with a spring roll." This reviewer also noted the attentive service with staff consistently refilling drinks and thanking customers on their way out, describing it as a "Very pleasant dining experience."

Based on these reviews, Royal China Restaurant in Dallas, TX, offers a varied experience. While one customer found the lunch to be just decent, highlighting the excellent shrimp dumplings as a standout, another customer with high standards found the overall Chinese food quality to be among the best in Texas, praising the attentive service, unrushed dining, reasonable prices, and generous portions. Local users looking for a potentially pleasant Chinese dining experience with highly recommended shrimp dumplings should consider Royal China. The atmosphere and overall quality might be better suited for a full dining experience rather than a quick lunch, according to the provided feedback.

The environment is described as welcoming with a warm greeting. Services include table service that is generally good and attentive, with drink refills and a non-rushed pace for enjoying the meal. Key features include highly recommended shrimp dumplings, reasonably priced food with generous portions, and a pleasant dining atmosphere. A potential drawback for some might be that certain entrees may not meet expectations in terms of temperature or spice level upon arrival. No specific promotional information is available.

Had a good lunch at Royal China. I had high expectations as I’ve been to Asia numerous times. It’s decent food. Price is normal for this area in Preston Hollow. Service was good but not stellar. Waiter had too many tables. He was kind. I had the shrimp dumplings to start. They were excellent and only $12. I had a raspberry mule to drink that was also great. Then for the entree I had General Kaos chicken. It wasn’t super hot when it came to my table. It also wasn’t spicy. I had to request more chili oil. The lunch entree was mid, decent but I’ve had better. If I return, it will only be for dumplings.

I am from New York which has exceptional Chinese food and Royal China has some of the best Chinese food I have had in Texas. You are warmly greeted as you enter and the table service is very good. I love how they don't rush your food and allow you time to enjoy it. They space out the time between your appetizers, soup and entrees. The food is all reasonably priced and the portion sizes are more than reasonable. I had the beef with broccoli, mushrooms and fried rice, along with a spring roll Someone is always walking around to refill your drinks and you are thanked on your way out. Very pleasant dining experience.

Premier Chinese restaurant in Dallas. Location in Preston Royal shopping center. Originally was Safari Steak House . In 1974 Royal China opened in the same spot. From the beginning it became a favorite for Chinese cuisine lovers. Current owner George continues in his father’s footsteps. His son is also at the restaurant and was our host today. Menu is full of mouthwatering choices. General Kao shrimp was prepared perfectly. Rice , spring roll, and won ton soup came with the lunch. Appetizers included fried won ton with accompanying sauces. Excellent bar and wine options. Atmosphere and dining rooms were decorated and inviting. You will enjoy the fortune cookie at the end of your meal. Schedule your visit soon and reservations are a must .

America style- Chinese food restaurant … Not that busy but good cause I don’t like that noisy… Ordered the Handmade chicken noodles which they recommended was almost all chicken and Garnish food but just few piece of noodles.. Everything here was so sweetly and Super greasy.. Especially the fire rice, one bite of it was so enough 🤣🤣🤣 The homemade chips were delicious and special The Pork bun was really quite different than the picture shows 😂😂😂 Service was good but they not that catch what you’re talking..

Low key disappointed, only noticeable dish was the eggplant-the rest was just meh. Had better Chinese food at other places. Our bill was $160 for all the items in pic, but my tastebuds were not satisfied. Tried and removed from my to eat list…
