About Rolling Wok

Welcome to Rolling Wok, a Chinese restaurant situated at 1609 S San Gabriel Blvd in San Gabriel, California. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, Rolling Wok aims to provide affordable and authentic Chinese cuisine to the community. You can contact us at (626) 571-5598 or via mobile at +1 626-571-5598. Located on South San Gabriel Boulevard, Rolling Wok is positioned to serve those seeking budget-friendly Chinese food options in the area.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, there are contrasting opinions regarding the overall experience at Rolling Wok. One reviewer described the food as "cheap, authentic Chinese food" and specifically praised the chicken dishes as "amazing." However, this same reviewer noted a significant drawback concerning the cleanliness of the dining area, advising potential customers to opt for takeout due to "often dirty" tables. This suggests that while the food quality, particularly the chicken, may be a strong point, the cleanliness of the dine-in environment could be a concern for some patrons.

In stark contrast, another customer reported a negative experience related to service. They stated that they were "literally got ignored" while waiting, alleging that other customers who arrived later were served first, implying a potential bias based on language. This reviewer claimed that they had to leave without being served and suggested that those who do not speak Mandarin or Cantonese might encounter difficulties. Additionally, this reviewer found the food to look "horrible" despite acknowledging its cheap price. This feedback raises serious concerns about the customer service and potentially the presentation of the food at Rolling Wok.

Considering these two reviews, it appears that Rolling Wok might be a place where the value proposition of "cheap, authentic Chinese food" is a key feature, particularly highlighted by the positive mention of the chicken dishes. However, there are significant caveats regarding the dining environment and customer service. The recommendation to consider takeout due to cleanliness issues suggests that the ambiance and upkeep of the restaurant's interior might not be a priority. Furthermore, the serious allegation of being ignored and the potential language barrier affecting service is a significant concern for prospective customers who do not speak Mandarin or Cantonese.

Given the limited information, it is difficult to ascertain the full range of services offered by Rolling Wok. The suggestion of takeout implies that this option is available. However, there is no mention of delivery services or any specific amenities for dine-in customers, beyond the availability of tables which are reportedly often unclean. The focus seems to be primarily on providing affordable food, with less emphasis on the dining experience itself.

The reviews do not provide any information regarding specific features of the restaurant, such as signature dishes beyond the praised chicken, the style of Chinese cuisine (e.g., Sichuan, Cantonese, etc.), or any unique aspects that set it apart from other Chinese restaurants in the area. The term "authentic" is used by one reviewer, suggesting that Rolling Wok aims to offer flavors that are true to Chinese culinary traditions, but without more details, it's hard to elaborate on the specific types of dishes offered.

Similarly, there is no mention of any promotional information, such as daily specials, lunch deals, or family meal options. Customers interested in learning about potential discounts or special offers would need to contact Rolling Wok directly at the provided phone number. Without this information, it is impossible to comment on the affordability beyond the general statement of "cheap" food.

In conclusion, Rolling Wok in San Gabriel appears to be a Chinese restaurant that prioritizes affordability and offers food that some customers consider authentic, with the chicken dishes being particularly noteworthy. However, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues concerning the cleanliness of the dining area and the potentially problematic customer service, especially for those who do not speak Mandarin or Cantonese. The starkly contrasting reviews suggest that experiences may vary significantly. If you are primarily looking for a budget-friendly meal and are willing to consider takeout, Rolling Wok might be an option, particularly if you are interested in trying their chicken. However, those seeking a clean and welcoming dine-in experience with reliable service may want to exercise caution or consider other options.

Literally got ignored. Was waiting Had people cut me and the lady literally saw me walk in first and then starts serving them up and ringing them up. Had to walk out this place. If ya don’t speak mandarin or canto you’re gonna have trouble here. the food looks horrible but it is cheap.

Horrible quality food. Worse than a lot of other fast food take out places in the area. Cheap? Yes. You can get a 3 item combo for close to $6, plus a free drink. The drink sucks. It's a super watered down winter melon tea. You barely taste anything. It's like drinking water. Choices aren't that great. A lot of the food doesn't look fresh. The curry chicken had a lot of tiny bones in it. Be careful when you eat it.

Don't listen to the haters. This place is legit, but yes, very authentic. This is NOT Panda Express. As someone else said, this is very much like eating overseas street food. You CANNOT beat the price of food here too. 3 items with drink for 6 and some change. The BBQ chicken is the best I've ever had of its kind.
