Rockland House

Rating for the restaurant. For a place with a large list of steaks, you would think they made a good one, but it was terrible. Undercooked, they brought it in to the back to try to cook it more, still came back literally raw and cold inside, and I ordered medium. They offered to take it back again, recooking the same steak three times.... Who does that? Anyway, I rarely give a poor review but this place earned it. Should've listened to the locals that advised against going there.

We were here on 5/27/24. The service was fine. The prices were greatly increased from the prior year. The salad bar was very mediocre compared to other years. My husband ordered a double shot of vodka in a ginger ale. Well there wasn’t any vodka in the drink. We both sat there and tried to slowly drink it and hoping for any hint of alcohol. There was none. Between the decreased quality and the fact they obviously tried to rip us off on the drink, I won’t be going back. We paid $65 for nothing and never got a meal. Will never go back.

The food was excellent, as was the service and atmosphere. Our friends enjoyed it very much. Thank you, Kayla, and unknown chef.

This review is for the restaurant. We’ve been coming to this restaurant for almost 3 decades, many times whenever we come to upstate. Food has been so good every time, except this time. But they cooked NY strip again and it was perfect. Their salad bar, prime rib, NY strip, chicken parm… everything is good. We have so much memories at Rockland house and will still be our favorite restaurant in Roscoe.

(New) Recently went back for dinner. Both me and my wife ordered the cowboy ribeyes both cooked perfectly. They were big and juicy. Same great soup and salad bar. With the soup and salad bar as well as the sive of the steaks it's not that pricey for the amount of food you could eat. (Old review) The salad bar is very good, it has 2 soup's and 2 types of bread. The service is very good.Which is why I gave 3 stars. Unfortunately 2 of 3 meals were not good, my Kansas City cut steak was so over cook it just plain sucked and it looked like it would have been great. My daughter's shrimp dish was just flavorless. However my wife enjoyed her prime rib.
