RiverGrille on the Tomoka

The food was pretty good. The best thing I ate was what I ordered, the half portion grilled scallop basket. The fries were eh. Hubby got the Cajun catfish that was just average. It was cooked good but a little too much on the seasoning. Their smoked Gouda crab dip was really good. I was put off by the animal poop on the deck that staff just walked by the entire time. We were outside but still someone should get that up at a restaurant. Our waitress was ok until we got our food and she disappeared. We wanted more drinks but she never came back. Hubby had to go let her know we were ready for our check. The scenery was nice… even saw a gator swimming in the river.

RiverGrille - Tomoka was exceptional today. Everything about it today was over and above. From the food, I had the Seafood Mac and Cheese, and it was outstanding. The shrimp scallops, fish bites, with bacon matched perfectly with the cheese, which didn't overpower the rest of the dish. Service was impeccable and honestly, could not have been any better. The atmosphere was superb, a bright day in which we enjoyed sitting on the outside deck and watching the river while we partook the meal. But, to top it all off, the three of us shared a piece of Florida Sunshine Cake. It was utterly divine! So moist, so airy, not overly sweet but loaded with so much flavor! It was so good, we ordered another 2 to go. As I said in the beginning, an exceptional dining experience.

This was our third time at the restaurant and I thought it was going to be very expensive but it was one of the most value priced menus I’ve seen in the area on the weekends. They even had four dollar margaritas. They have a live band there on Saturday afternoons I think around five. The atmosphere was amazing. The views were great right by the river. Staff was excellent. Can’t say enough about this local or establishment.

Today was an amazing experience. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it exploded with flavors. The drinks were very delicious as well. Great outdoor seating by the river.

I had the Mango Mahi. I felt the rice & beans along with the green beans were missing something (maybe salt). The Mahi was awesome. Very flavorful. My wife had the Citrus Bourbon Salmon with beans & rice & hushpuppies. She thought her salmon was excellent & very flavorful. The hushpuppies were crispy and while good weren't outstanding. My father-in-law had Mahi Fingers & cheese curds and they were excellent. The atmosphere and decor were really great and gave that ole Florida feel. Will gladly eat there again.
