Customer reviews for Rice to Go present a stark contrast in experiences. One customer praised the house special fried rice, noting that it included all meat options with shrimp, was ready quickly, and came in a packed to-go plate with great portion sizes and delicious flavor. They appreciated the "whole in the wall" atmosphere with good food and efficient service.

However, other reviews paint a very negative picture. Multiple customers described the restaurant's interior as "dirty and disorganized." One reviewer stated they considered leaving upon entering due to the uncleanliness. Regarding the food, one customer who ordered egg rolls and crab rangoons for $15 reported a strong taste of "old expired dirty oil" in both items, suggesting the frying oil had not been changed for an extended period. They found the food "horrific" and advised others to avoid the restaurant, even expressing concern about giving the food to someone in need due to potential illness.

Another review echoed the sentiment of poor quality and a lack of pride in delivering good results. Based on the provided reviews, there are significant concerns regarding the cleanliness of the establishment and the quality of the food, particularly items that are fried.

I placed an order for their house special fried rice. It comes with all the meat options, including shrimp. The food was ready right away and the to go plate was packed, so great portion sizes. The flavor of the fried rice is delicious. I love a good whole in the walk with great food and no nonsense service.

About as awful as it could possibly be. Walking in, I considered turning around and not purchasing anything because it was so dirty and disorganized inside… I stuck with it and thought maybe they had some magnificent food…. They did not. This is the epitome of a business owner that has zero pride or drive in delivering quality results to the community. Completely awful. I ordered two egg rolls and crab rangoons… this cost $15. I didn’t eat in the restaurant because it was so dirty, I didn’t want to touch anything. I had a bite of a crab Rangoon and the only thing I could taste is old expired dirty oil…. I don’t think they have changed the fry oil in years, maybe decades. I tried a bite of one egg roll… also old oil taste. No other flavors. Horrific. Do not go here. Please save yourself some money and time. I don’t even feel comfortable giving this food to a homeless person in fear of getting them sick.

So yummy! I love that it’s a small family owned grab and go restaurant. I came in with my friends for a quick bite and although there is not much seating, their shumai is to die for and HUGE! Will definitely become my new go to spot for party catering dim sum!

My friend told me about this place, so I went to give it a try. Not disappointed, I got the kau yuk, big pork shumai (pork hash), and manapua (baked char siu bao), but I think they forgot the rice 😁. The kau yuk was just right, good taste, soft. The pork hash is big, good taste, and the dipping sauce was a good compliment. The manapua was good, had a unique taste that I never had in manapua before. This is a take-out only place. You need to decide what you want before going inside, the menu is in the window only (take a picture before you go in if you want). It's not fast food, so be patient. Don't let the appearance of the place put you off. Try it.
