Based on recent customer reviews, the experiences at Rice House appear to be quite contrasting, with one customer reporting a highly positive experience while another expressed significant dissatisfaction. One customer who stopped by for lunch shared a detailed and positive account of their visit. They ordered the orange chicken, crab Rangoon, and hot and sour soup, while their husband ordered the honey chicken, crab Rangoon, and hot and sour soup. Additionally, they ordered Mongolian beef to try and take home. This customer was highly impressed with the service, noting that it was "perfect" and the soup was brought out quickly.
Furthermore, this reviewer praised the quality and preparation of the food, stating, "The food was made fresh and was so good. It came out nice and hot. The chicken was breaded perfectly and nice and crispy but soft at the same time." They also found the soup and crab Rangoon to be "yummy" and the Mongolian beef to be "also delicious," highlighting that "The meat was flavorful and tender." This customer also mentioned that their husband ordered extra Mongolian beef to take to work for lunch for several days, indicating their satisfaction with this particular dish. A significant point of praise was the affordability, as they noted, "The prices are so reasonable too." This customer concluded by stating that Rice House is their husband's "favorite Chinese restaurant in the metro" and that it is "always consistent," suggesting a reliable and positive track record for their family.
In stark contrast, another customer reported a very negative experience. Their review began by stating that "The Chinese lady was extremely rude. Wouldn't let me examine the food that was prepared." This immediately highlights a significant issue with customer service and transparency regarding the food being served.
Following this initial negative interaction, the customer expressed extreme disappointment with the quantity of food received for a large order. They stated, "When I got home I opened to see what 5 of us ordered and the amount of food that I paid for for 5 people to eat was EXTREMELY disappointing. You would think if I pay 63 bucks for an order per person you'd get a decent amount of food. You don't. I've been to other Chinese restaurants and they gave us way more than what we paid for." This feedback raises serious concerns about the portion sizes relative to the price charged, suggesting a potential lack of value for money for larger orders.
Adding to their negative experience, this customer also criticized the taste of the food, stating, "the food also lacked taste." This is a significant concern as flavor is a primary expectation when dining at a restaurant. They concluded their review with a strong negative recommendation, "Would never recommend this place," and reiterated their dissatisfaction with both the service and the portion sizes, describing the service as "extremely disappointing" and the lack of food per person as "really disappointing."
Considering these two highly divergent reviews, it is evident that customer experiences at Rice House can vary significantly. One customer found the food to be fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced, with excellent service, while another experienced rude service, received what they perceived to be very small portions for the price paid, and found the food to be lacking in taste.
The positive review highlights the quality of specific dishes such as the orange chicken, honey chicken, crab Rangoon, hot and sour soup, and Mongolian beef, as well as the prompt and friendly service and reasonable prices. The consistency mentioned by this reviewer suggests that Rice House has provided positive experiences in the past.
On the other hand, the negative review raises serious concerns about the customer service provided by at least one staff member, the transparency regarding the food preparation, the portion sizes for a large order, and the overall taste of the food. The significant discrepancy in the amount of food received compared to other Chinese restaurants, as perceived by this customer, is also a critical point.
There is no information provided in these reviews about the environment or ambiance of the restaurant itself. Both reviews primarily focus on the food and the service experienced during takeout orders.
Similarly, there is no mention of any specific promotional offers or discounts currently available at Rice House. Customers interested in learning about any specials would need to contact the restaurant directly.
In conclusion, Rice House in Louisburg, KS, is a Chinese Restaurant that has elicited strongly contrasting opinions from its recent customers. While some patrons have enjoyed fresh, delicious food, reasonable prices, and good service, others have reported rude service, disappointing portion sizes for the price paid, and a lack of taste in the food. Potential customers should be aware of these differing experiences when considering dining at Rice House. If you are looking for specific dishes like the ones praised in the positive review and value potentially reasonable prices, you might have a positive experience. However, the negative feedback regarding service, portion sizes, and taste is also important to consider.

The meat was flavorful and tender. My husband ordered the Mongolian beef to be able to take to work for a couple of days this week for lunch. The prices are so reasonable too. This is my husband's favorite Chinese restaurant in the metro, and it is always consistent.

Would never recommend this place.
The rice house is always amazing, the lady up front is always so nice, and always remembers me. Went out with some friends to dine in and the food came out fast, nice, and filling. I think some people are too short with them because their English isn't to great, but I think they're the absolute best, 10/10, would recommend.
Get take out all the time. 1st time ever to be disappointed. Ordered my regular, combination fried rice, when I got home, 24 miles later, only chicken! No beef, zero shrimp! 😕 Chicken fried rice wasn't what I ordered 💔
Passing through and was craving Chinese. Place was highly rated. What a mistake. Patron beware! I ordered orange chicken, paid an extra $1 for white meat. Container had 4 tiny pieces of broccoli and less than 10% was actually chicken. 90% or more was bread filling deep fried in orange flavored sauce. Don't waste your money. Highly sketch at best.
