About Rice and Bubble Tea
Rice and Bubble Tea is a Chinese restaurant located at 7191 N State Rd 7 in Parkland, Florida. Uniquely situated within a gas station, this establishment offers a combination of Chinese cuisine and a variety of bubble tea beverages, catering to local users looking for a quick meal or a refreshing drink. As part of the Chinese restaurant category, it provides a range of familiar dishes, primarily focused on takeout, although dine-in options might be available given the nature of some gas station setups. The presence of phone numbers, (754) 704-7000 and +1 754-704-7000, indicates that customers can place orders or make inquiries via telephone. The unusual location within a gas station is a notable aspect of this eatery's environment, suggesting a casual and convenient stop for those on the go.
The services offered by Rice and Bubble Tea primarily seem to be takeout, given its gas station location. Customers can likely place orders in person or by phone for pickup. While not explicitly mentioned, delivery services might also be available through third-party platforms, which is common for many restaurants today. The combination of Chinese food and bubble tea is a distinctive feature, catering to a broad range of tastes and preferences. Bubble tea, also known as boba tea, is a USese tea-based drink that often includes chewy tapioca balls ("boba" or "pearls") and comes in various sweet flavors. This dual offering makes Rice and Bubble Tea a potentially appealing spot for those seeking both a meal and a specialty beverage.
The customer reviews for Rice and Bubble Tea provide a mixed perspective on the food quality, while consistently highlighting the friendliness of the owners, described as an older couple. One reviewer expressed significant disappointment with the food, stating that they wished they had read the low-scoring reviews before ordering. They described the food as "horrible," taking only two bites before being unable to eat more. A "very strange chemical taste" was noted by the reviewer's wife. Specific dishes mentioned were the spring rolls, which were described as tasteless with vegetables that appeared frozen, and a sauce that also had a strange taste. This customer ultimately threw the entire meal away and stated they would not revisit. This paints a concerning picture of the food quality, particularly regarding freshness and taste.
Another reviewer, who decided to try the "gas station Chinese take out food with good reviews," had a more moderate but still negative experience overall. They found the egg rolls to be overcooked in what they suspected was "old" oil. While they acknowledged that the food quantity was good and the order was correct, they described the flavor as "meh," noting the lack of a good quality sauce or anything special about the taste. This customer also ended up tossing the leftovers, deeming them not "leftover worthy." They did, however, echo the sentiment about the "very friendly couple cooking" and confirmed the accuracy of their order. Despite the positive interaction with the owners, the lack of satisfying flavor was a significant drawback for this reviewer.
The contrasting reviews, where the friendliness of the owners is a consistent positive but the food quality receives negative feedback, suggest that while the service might be pleasant, the culinary offerings may not meet the expectations of all customers. The location within a gas station might also influence some customers' perceptions or expectations of the food. The combination of Chinese food and bubble tea is an interesting feature that could attract a diverse clientele, but the quality of the core food items appears to be a significant concern based on the provided reviews.
For local users in Parkland considering Rice and Bubble Tea, the friendly service provided by the owners is a definite plus. If you are looking for bubble tea, this location offers that in conjunction with Chinese food, which could be a convenient option. However, the negative reviews regarding the taste, freshness, and overall quality of the Chinese food should be taken into serious consideration. The reports of a "strange chemical taste," tasteless spring rolls with frozen-looking vegetables, overcooked egg rolls, and generally "meh" flavor are significant red flags. While one might be tempted by the convenience or the novelty of the location and the dual offering, the feedback suggests that the food itself may not be a strong point.
Given the limited number of reviews, it's difficult to form a definitive overall opinion, but the issues raised by both reviewers regarding the food quality are substantial enough to warrant caution. Potential customers might want to weigh the convenience and the availability of bubble tea against the reported problems with the Chinese dishes. It might be prudent to consider other Chinese restaurants in the area that have received more consistently positive feedback on their food quality. If one decides to try Rice and Bubble Tea, perhaps starting with a smaller order or focusing on the bubble tea might be a safer approach to gauge the overall quality and value.
In conclusion, Rice and Bubble Tea in Parkland, FL, is a Chinese restaurant located within a gas station, offering both Chinese cuisine and a variety of bubble tea. The owners are consistently described as very friendly. However, customer reviews raise concerns about the quality of the Chinese food, with reports of strange tastes, tasteless dishes, overcooked items, and generally underwhelming flavor. While the combination of food and bubble tea and the friendly service might be appealing, potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with food quality before making a decision.

I wish I read the low score reviews before I ordered as I only saw the good ones. The older couple that run this place in a gas station were very nice. The food is horrible. I literally took 2 bites and couldn’t eat it. My wife also said there was a very strange chemical taste. The spring rolls were tasteless and the vegetables looked frozen. The sauce had a strange taste as well. We just threw it away. There are many choices in the area and this one won’t be revisited by us ever.
Gas station Chinese take out food with good reviews so I had to give it a shot. Egg rolls were over cooked in "old" oil. Food was a good quantity and order was correct. Food was meh on flavor. Not a good quality sauce or anything special. Ate what we could and it wasn't leftover worthy so we tossed it. Lesson learned. Very friendly couple cooking and the order was correct. Just not the flavors I was hoping for,.
The most delicious fried rice I have ever eaten. It is even more delicious than you are imagining. Think of the most delicious fried rice you've had and it's 100x more delicious. The fried rice with pork. Or the fried rice with egg. Very cheap and you get a large amount of rice. Can feed 2 people. The wonton soup is amazing too. The ramen is ok. Get the fried rice instead. The tea is good too!
Stopped in to grab a tea, I was hungry. Chinese restaurant in a gas station, sure why not, lunch special. Garlic chicken, fried really well, white meat chicken, no hint of rancid oil. Fried rice, fluffy, very mild in flavor, not much to it but not bad. There could have been more than seven pieces of chicken but that is my only gripe. Next time I'm at BJ's, I will try something else on the menu.
We ordered food from this place, and the wings tasted like it was fried last week. the pepper steak was spoiled it smells horrible could not take a bite. I'm sorry, I don't usually post things like this, but its just wrong
