Customer reviews highlight the restaurant's pan-fried bao as a popular item. The baos are described as having a crispy bottom, juicy filling, and served at an ideal temperature. The small size order includes three baos for $5.
Another customer also praised the pan-fried buns, noting their tendency to "explode" with juice when bitten into. They also mentioned a successful "copycat" of a specific soup dish, indicating the restaurant's ability to replicate popular flavors.
However, there are also critiques. One reviewer found the presentation of the steamed buns in a takeout lid to be "perfunctory." They also commented that the noodles were "not refreshing enough," "fine," and had a "rough feeling." The stew pot, on the other hand, was described as looking "great" and "worth trying."
In summary, 老福洲 restaurant is known for its pan-fried bao and offers a range of Fuzhou cuisine. While the pan-fried bao and some other dishes receive positive reviews, the presentation of certain items and the noodle dishes have been criticized. Potential customers should consider these mixed reviews when deciding to dine at 老福洲 restaurant.

Panfried baos were pretty good, bottom was crispy, filling was juicy, and just the right temperature where it doesn’t burn your mouth. Ordered the small size, 3 for $5
I like the pan-fried buns, they will explode when you bite into them 😋 Laohua’s soup copycat is very successful, Yawu A~👍 But the plate containing the steamed buns has a take-out lid, which seems very perfunctory. The stew pot looks great and worth trying. The noodles are not refreshing enough, fine, and have a rough feeling... I don't like it very much.
I declare the fried buns here to be the best in Flushing! I also ordered laohua soup today and it tasted delicious! !
The fried buns are very good and juicy. I have been eating their stewed pot fried buns and laohua here for the past few days. I like that their soup base is very authentic and the portion is sufficient. I am happy to be able to eat authentic Fuzhou snacks in New York.
As an authentic Fuzhou native, I ate there twice yesterday. The peanut sauce used for the noodles is specially made. It’s the best I’ve had in the United States. The stew pot pig’s trotters have the kind of tree roots in it. I don’t know what it’s called. , fried rice noodles + fish soup, Changle’s breakfast combination, summary: great and will come again
