About Reren Lamen n Bar (Georgetown)
Reren Lamen n Bar, located on the 2nd floor at 1073 Wisconsin Ave NW in Georgetown, Washington, DC, is a Chinese restaurant that offers a delightful surprise in an otherwise upscale area. While the name might suggest ramen, Reren Lamen n Bar specializes in surprisingly flavorful lamen, which are Chinese hand-pulled noodles.
The restaurant boasts a recently renovated interior with a fancy, artistic, and inviting ambiance, creating a great vibe for diners. The open-concept eating space is comfortable and colorful, accented with simple Asian decorative touches. Contrary to how it might appear from the outside, the interior is quite spacious. Seating near the window offers a pleasant view, providing a nice escape from the busy Georgetown streets.
A standout feature of Reren Lamen n Bar is the high quality of its food offered at a relatively cheaper price point, making it a great value meal option, especially for the Georgetown area. Their soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) are particularly praised for their delicate skin, flavorful filling, and delicious broth. The street-style fried calamari is noted for being crispy and well-seasoned, making it a recommended order. Another popular dish is the grandma-style beef pancakes, packed with rich flavors and a perfect texture. The jumbo shrimp and pork suimai are also highlighted as fresh, juicy, and amazing.
Customers have consistently found the food to be well-executed, and the service is described as friendly and efficient. Reren Lamen n Bar is recommended for those seeking high-quality Chinese food, particularly their signature lamen and other flavorful dishes, in a fantastic and comfortable atmosphere without breaking the bank. It's a gem in Georgetown offering a sanctuary for a tasty and satisfying meal.

Reren Lamen & Bar in Georgetown is an absolute gem! The renovation they did looks fancy—the ambiance is artistic , inviting, and has a great vibe that makes dining here even more enjoyable. The food is top-notch! Their soup dumplings are perfection—delicate, flavorful, and bursting with delicious broth. The street-style fried calamari is crispy and well-seasoned, making it a must-order. I also loved the grandma-style beef pancakes, which were packed with rich flavors and had the perfect texture. The jumbo shrimp and pork suimai were fresh, juicy, and simply amazing. Everything I tried was well-executed, and the service was friendly and efficient. If you’re looking for a great spot in Georgetown for high-quality food with cheaper price and a fantastic atmosphere, Reren Lamen & Bar is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Reren Lamen deserves a shoutout here. Now Reren doesn't offer ramen, it does provide surprisingly flavorful lamen, or Chinese hand pulled noodles. This is the nook and a sanctuary that I'd least expect in super-expensive Georgetown. First the noodles dishes provide a high quality value meal that I honestly cannot find anywhere else in town. Perhaps the most surprising is the Xiaolongbao (小籠包), soup dumplings. The soup in the dumpling sports an bright yellow hue with low collagen taste. Usually I find dishes with gelatin hold on to more flavor but the very soup low-gelatin composition of the soup dumpling was pretty good. Paired with your meal is the very comfortable, colorful, open concept eating space accented with simple asian decorative tones. In fact, the space is far more open and comfortable than it seems looking from the outside. Highly recommend getting a seat near the window as the view is a bonus that comes with the meal. It is just a nice nook to escape the noisy Georgetown streeets and grab a tasty bite of food at the same time.
It's a different kind of restaurant in Gtown. Cute little restaurant on a 2nd floor, 1st floor is a bubble tea place. Party of 5, greeted by friendly staff, they were very attentive during our dinner, refilling water, taking away finished plates, and ordering was very easy. Fresh ingredients and delicious food. Highly recommend the salt & pepper chicken, very juicy and tender. Can't go wrong with the soup dumpling, steamed to perfection; Shrimp hargow is way bigger than normal dim sum places. Let's talk about price: priced at a very reasonable price point, given the prime location and cost of rent, their pricing is way better than a lot of restaurants. Overall, will definitely go again. 😋
Yesterday we had the best experience there. Our server Jason was super fast, friendly and attentive. Since it was our first time he explained to us best dishes and the whole night was a great experience overall. The food we ordered was so flavorful and cocktails were amazing. A great atmosphere I would highly recommend this place
I recently visited this restaurant with my husband and was excited to try their upgraded menu, which now includes Chinese noodles and soup dumplings. We ordered the black truffle dish, which was incredibly tasty and a rare find in DC. What impressed us was that the dumplings were handmade, not machine-made, with a thin wrap that still managed to retain the tenderness of the filling. We also tried the popcorn chicken, which smelled amazing and lived up to its aroma. The chicken was hot, juicy, and came in a generous portion. Additionally, we ordered the Kongfu beef noodle and Hong-Kong duck noodle. The Hong-Kong duck noodle was a standout, with the roast duck and soup expertly prepared. It's a classic Chinese dish that they executed very well. However, I was disappointed with the Kongfu beef noodle. The addition of sprouts gave it a Japanese ramen flavor profile, which didn't quite fit with the traditional Chinese noodle dish I was expecting. Furthermore, the soup was not hot enough, which took away from the overall experience. Overall, I'm glad to see this restaurant expanding its menu to include more Chinese options, and I appreciate the attention to detail in their handmade dumplings. With a bit of improvement on their noodle dishes, particularly the Kongfu beef noodle, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in DC.
