About Red Wok

Red Wok is a Chinese restaurant situated at 9322 N Oak Trafficway in Kansas City, Missouri. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, it aims to provide a variety of Chinese cuisine to the local community. Based on recent online reviews, customer experiences appear to be somewhat divided, with initial positive impressions contrasting with more recent negative feedback regarding food quality. This introduction seeks to provide an objective overview of Red Wok, incorporating the available customer reviews to describe the environment, services, features, and any indications of promotional offerings.

The provided reviews offer limited insight into the physical environment or ambiance of Red Wok. One customer who dined at the restaurant (presumably on-site, although not explicitly stated) focused primarily on the food and service, without describing the decor or atmosphere. The other review pertains to a takeout order. Therefore, a detailed description of the restaurant's environment cannot be accurately constructed based on the current information. It can be generally assumed that Red Wok likely offers a standard casual dining area for those wishing to eat in, in addition to its takeout services.

In terms of services, Red Wok offers both dine-in and takeout options, as indicated by the two reviews. One customer who dined at the restaurant praised the service, describing the staff as "polite" and "quick to serve" and noting that their food was prepared "incredibly fast." This suggests an efficient and friendly service experience for at least some patrons. The other review details a takeout order where the customer experienced a significant issue with the food quality, indicating that while takeout is available, the quality of the prepared food may not always meet expectations. The availability of phone ordering is also implied by the customer who called to confirm the change in the General Chicken preparation.

The features of Red Wok include a menu of Chinese dishes. One customer highly recommended the "Kung Pao Trio," describing it as the "shining star" and expressing a desire to order it again, along with fried rice and crab rangoon. This suggests that certain dishes at Red Wok have been well-received and considered to be of high quality. The same reviewer also noted that the food was cooked to the "correct textures" and that the portions were "incredibly filling," indicating a positive experience with the preparation and quantity of food at the time of their visit. However, a more recent review highlights a significant change in the preparation of the General Chicken, a popular dish. The customer reported that the restaurant had switched from what they expected to be traditional pieces of chicken to "frozen chicken nuggets like you’d get at Costco or something," which they found to be "absolutely terrible." This suggests a potential decline in the quality of ingredients or a change in preparation methods for at least one key menu item. The customer's disappointment was compounded by not noticing the change until they had returned home and then having their confirmation of this change by the restaurant staff.

The contrasting experiences highlight a potential inconsistency in the food quality or a recent change in ingredients or preparation that has negatively impacted at least one customer. While some dishes like the Kung Pao Trio were praised, the significant downgrade in the General Chicken, according to one reviewer, is a serious concern for potential customers who may have enjoyed this dish in the past.

Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not contain any details about specific promotions, discounts, or special offers at Red Wok. The mention of specific dishes like the Kung Pao Trio and General Chicken simply reflects menu items rather than promotional deals. Local users interested in learning about any current specials or discounts are advised to contact the restaurant directly at (816) 468-8868 or +1 816-468-8868.

In conclusion, Red Wok in Kansas City, MO, is a Chinese restaurant that has received mixed recent reviews. While one customer had a very positive experience, praising the food quality, service, and portion sizes, another reported a significant decline in the quality of a popular dish, the General Chicken. The restaurant offers both dine-in and takeout services. The Kung Pao Trio, fried rice, and crab rangoon were highlighted as enjoyable by one patron. However, the reported switch to frozen chicken nuggets for the General Chicken raises concerns about consistency and ingredient quality. Potential customers should be aware of these contrasting recent experiences. Those who have enjoyed Red Wok in the past may want to inquire about the current preparation methods of their favorite dishes before placing an order. New customers might find some well-received dishes, but the reported issues with food quality on a popular item warrant caution.

Husband and I randomly chose to eat here. To our suprise their food has been some of the best tasting foe this style of cuisine. ( our suprise because we did no reviews just randomly chose this stop based on our location at that time) the men working here were polite, quick to serve, attentive, our food was done incredibly fast and it tasted great. The proportions were incredibly filling. Very happy with our random choice! I ordered the Kung poa trio and it was the shining star! I would ordered that, fried rice and crab ragoon again for sure. I'm not a curry fan (no matter.how it's prepared lol not a dis on this establishment) however the items were cooked to the correct textures and not over or under cooked. Would be back again.

Red Wok is falling off, fast. Placed an order for General Chicken, sauce on side. The chicken is now frozen chicken nuggets like you’d get at Costco or something. Absolutely terrible. Didn’t notice until I got back home and packed the order. Called to confirm this was supposed to be what I got (because it looks like it’s for kids) and he confirmed they switched to this. Terrible decision.

This was our first time at this restaurant. The crab rangoon was delicious! Then not much later, came the main dishes and my sesame chicken was amazing so I tried a little of my family's dishes if mine was this good. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy and had a perfect sauce that was the right amount of sweet! The chicken lo mein was a huge pile of noodles, chicken and vegetables and fabulous. My wife's cashew chicken was amazing also. We will definitely go back to this place and would highly recommend Red Wok if you enjoy Chinese food!

Ive eaten from here a few times. It was really good a few months ago, I don't know if they got a new cook but everything is just slightly burnt. The crisps for the soup are dark and taste burnt and generals chicken is hard and crunchy. I hate to leave a bad review I just want to help 😭😭

I was really disappointed ordering from here last night. We had a takeout order and I got the sesame chicken. It seemed like the quality of the chicken wasn’t very good and the sauce was thin and not very flavorful. It was just not appetizing and kind of gross. The egg roll was fine but overall my husband and I spent $40 on dinner and it wasn’t worth it at all in my opinion.
