"I’ve been here twice, once seated at the bar and once for dinner. I definitely recommend this place; the food is very good, the cocktails are probably one the best in LIC and the ambiance reminds me of anthropology if it was a restaurant."

Another guest shared: "Service was good. Food was solid 8/10 — chicken truffle soup dumplings were tasty. Lotus root was refreshing and really well flavored. Godmothers chicken wings were a bit disappointing. Braised was not what I had expected based on the description. I’m not fan of the mouth numbing peppercorns — didn’t realize it was one of the ingredients. Overall, cool experience. Whole place was a vibe."

While we strive for perfection, we appreciate your feedback and are continuously working to improve our service and menu offerings.

I’ve been here twice, once seated at the bar and once for dinner. I definitely recommend this place; the food is very good, the cocktails are probably one the best in LIC and the ambiance reminds me of anthropology if it was a restaurant. When we had table service, I did feel extremely rushed even though we were in and out in about an hour (2 hour max time). Our waitress really pressured us to order quickly. The business model is quick table turnaround despite their very high prices, which is typically for restaurants in Flushing for example but those prices are probably 30% less so…. I definitely had a better experience seated at the bar.

The decor of Red Sorghum is beautiful with authentic vibe. We were so surprised with how delicious and delicate their dishes were since we had stereotypes of these trendy spots. Their Peking Duck was surprisingly one of the best we have ever had in Queens. The skin was fatty and the meat was moist. Their signature desert “Dragon Eye” was impressively satisfying with different layers of texture.

The atmosphere is great, good service, and I liked the food menus they have. But.. the food was too salty, I liked the flavors but it was too salty to entirely enjoy the meal.. only ate small portion and took home.

This restaurant masterfully combines traditional Chinese flavors, some innovative elements, and modern decor, making it an excellent contemporary Chinese restaurant. Their menu focuses on Hunan cuisine, with delicious dishes featuring fish, pork, and Hunan noodles. Compared to traditional Hunan dishes, they pay more attention to controlling oil and salt, aligning with current dietary trends. The decor beautifully blends traditional and modern elements, creating a striking contrast. Additionally, their service is prompt and efficient, with the entire restaurant running smoothly. It's been very popular since opening, so if you visit during peak evening hours, you might have to wait a bit. I recommend making a reservation or going early.

Came here for Valentine's Day on a whim with no reservations and found 2 seats at the bar which we didn't mind. The ambience here is amazing we met a couple also sitting at the bar who were just as friendly as the staff that works here. The bartender KEVIN is amazing and took care of us the whole night. Great recommendations on the drinks and they were creative and delicious. The food was seasoned to perfection and delicious. CHEF'S KISS💋. It was a wonderful night and a great experience. We will be back to attack the menu even more. Highly recommended. Please don't sleep on this place

Red Sorghum 夜宴 offers beautifully designed interiors and attentive staff, creating a comfortable dining experience. However, the dishes we ordered were a bit too salty and heavy on the flavor, lacking balance. It would be great if they could refine the flavors by adding more depth, rather than relying solely on thick, dense seasoning. The space is large and well-designed, making for a pleasant atmosphere, but the food could use some fine-tuning.

I’ve been blessed to learn about this restaurant! The food is out of this world! Literally it makes no sense how good the food here is. Drinks: We ordered the sorghum sling and the 5-spice old fashioned! These were top notch and as an old fashioned fan: this was up there as one of my favorites! Food: We ordered the scallion pancake for appetizer. I have to say I’ve have a lot of scallion pancakes before and this was incredibly flavorful. Will order that again when I go back. We ordered the lucky coin tofu…..I literally need someone to tell me how the hell did they make this!? It was incredible!!! It’s so good we found ourselves trying to eat that more than the other food we ordered. Jesus it’s amazing! We also ordered the grandma’s rice noodles and fried rice. Everything tasted so damn good. Nothing was too greasy or salty it was perfectly seasoned and all we wanted was more room to order more food🤣 Service: Unfortunately, the service was not the best. Unfriendly waiter who seemed to not want to be around us or even listen to any of our questions about orders. He was very disengaged and wasn’t welcoming. I only gave them three stars because it was slightly busy and I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Ambiance is gorgeous inside. You cannot go wrong going here with friends, family or a date night. Absolutely worth it. Big hugs and high five to the chefs!

The food was relatively average in terms of flavor. I couldn’t quite figure out what their cuisine actually is. They claim to serve Hunan food, but I feel like it’s mixed with elements of other cuisines, like Sichuan and Shanghainese. None of the dishes left a particularly strong impression on me, but to be fair, there wasn’t anything terrible either. The restaurant itself has a nice environment, so if you happen to be nearby, it might be worth a try.

Let me start with what I liked about this restaurant: super nice atmosphere/decor inside—almost felt like you were stepping into a scene from Crazy Rich Asians. The service was also super quick, which I appreciated. However, the lotus root was a bit too sour and the pork belly wasn’t quite as flavorful as I would’ve liked/expected. Granted, I could easily see this being an issue with what we ordered—would love to give this another shot but would probably get different things on the menu.
