Red Ruby Restaurant

We have been going to red ruby for 28+ years. Early on and before the pandemic, the food was excellent for a fair price. We usually dined in at that time, but since the pandemic, the quality of food, price and the atmosphere of the pickup area (no sit down option available) has gotten a lot worse. They are also cheating you out of meat. Take the almond chicken. Now take the breading off and you will be amazed how little chicken you are actually getting. I want to be clear, when I say the food has gone down hill, previously it was excellent. Now it is OK to semi good. My other complaint, which brought up above is the atmosphere . It is dark and carpet needs updating and the pay counter for carry out is a make shift area with a plexiglass. We will try Red Ruby again, but not anytime soon. We hoping the standards have improved the next time we go and we can resume ordering food from them.

Worst orange chicken I’ve ever had. It’s supposed to have a spicy orange taste. It’s nothing but an orange colored sauce that resembles “sweet and sour sauce.” The chicken is thickly battered. Omg. If I could give zero stars, it would be zero. And the spring roll is so greasy.

This food is diabolical. The food is absolutely disgusting. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy nor a dog or a cat to eat it. The taste of the food was unrecognizable. I’ve never taste Chinese food taste so disgusting I called and spoke with the manager. They told me that I can get a refund. I brought the food back the next day. The lady refused to give me a refund told me there were no refund. I told her that I spoke with the manager and the manager told me I could get a refund. She then took my food to the back. Did something with it. I heard the man back they’re yelling and screaming to the top of his lungs. This inside of this restaurant is disgusting as well. It has a smell like something dead. I would just suggest no one eat there eat at your own risk. My daughter was sick behind it.

Man I hate to leave a bad review but I have to let everyone know... This place has good service but once you step in the place it smells really bad. I ordered chicken with rice and it was not good made my stomach hurt started throwing up. Never had that happened anywhere else. If your going to give them a chance just know what your getting your self into.

I try not to leave poor reviews 😞 I did call the restraunt in attempt to rectify this prior to coming here. Our normal Chinese take-out was closed. So we decided to try Ruby Red. We placed the order via telephone for pickup. Upon returning home and opening the containers to feed our family, we were disgusted. We ordered a quart of General Tso's chicken, a quart of fried rice, a quart of white rice, a quart of beef lo mein, and a quart of sweet & sour chicken. The sweet & sour sauce is thick like a jam. Thick enough to spend on a price of toast. The chicken undercooked and chewy like it has been freezer burnt. There were zero seasonings, garnishments aeronautics, or vegetables in ANY of the dishes. The sauce on the General Tso's chicken was the same goopy jelly like substance as the sweet n sour sauce. Not edible. Not seasoned. Not acceptable. And when I called, the lady who answered the phone was very rude and insulting even. Refusing to even remake the food or refund the food. We order Chinese takeout for a family of ten , weekly. Sometimes more. We will NOT be returning to this establishment. Poor quality food. Poor customer service.
