About Red Flower
Welcome to Red Flower, a Chinese restaurant located at 176 Kents Ridge Rd in Richlands, VA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the local community, Red Flower aims to provide a range of Chinese dishes for its patrons. Based on recent customer feedback, there appear to be varying experiences, with some customers praising the restaurant while others have noted a decline in quality.
One positive review states that the "Food is always great!! Always super hot and fresh and you get big portions!" This feedback highlights several potentially attractive features of Red Flower: consistently good-tasting food, served at a desirable temperature (hot and fresh), and generous portion sizes. For customers who value these aspects, Red Flower may be a satisfying choice.
However, another recent review presents a contrasting perspective, indicating that "Something changed with the food over the last few months. Not as good." This suggests a potential shift in the restaurant's culinary standards or preparation methods. The reviewer specifically mentioned a negative experience with the vegetable lo mein, stating that it was "chopped up in small pieces and only mushy broccoli in it. No other vegetables was in it. Very disappointed." This detailed feedback points to a significant deviation from expected lo mein preparation, both in terms of the variety and texture of the vegetables.
The same critical reviewer further noted, "Don't know if new cook but never seen lo mein chopped up. Ended up throwing it out. Food is tasting and prepared different." This implies a noticeable change in the overall taste and preparation of the food at Red Flower, leading to a highly unsatisfactory experience for this particular customer. The act of discarding the dish underscores the severity of the disappointment.
Considering these two recent reviews, there appears to be a divergence in customer experiences at Red Flower. While one customer consistently enjoys the food, another has observed a decline in quality and a significant change in the preparation of at least one dish. This inconsistency suggests that the current state of the food at Red Flower might be variable.
For local users in Richlands, VA, seeking a Chinese restaurant, Red Flower offers a convenient location on Kents Ridge Rd. Historically, it seems to have been known for great food, large portions, and freshness. However, potential customers should be aware of the recent feedback indicating a possible decline in food quality and changes in preparation methods, at least for some dishes like the vegetable lo mein.
The lack of information regarding the restaurant's environment and services in the provided reviews makes it challenging to offer a detailed description of these aspects. The reviews primarily focus on the food itself. It is unknown whether Red Flower offers dine-in, takeout, or delivery services based solely on this information. The mention of food being "super hot and fresh" might imply a focus on takeout or prompt service for dine-in customers.
Given the conflicting recent reviews, it might be advisable for potential customers to consider the specific dishes they are interested in and perhaps inquire about the current preparation methods if they have concerns, particularly regarding dishes like the vegetable lo mein. The positive feedback about consistently great, hot, fresh food and big portions should also be taken into account, suggesting that some aspects of Red Flower remain commendable for some patrons.
Red Flower can be contacted at (276) 596-9921 or +1 276-596-9921 for inquiries about their menu, current food preparation, services offered (dine-in, takeout, delivery), and hours of operation.
As a Chinese restaurant in Richlands, VA, Red Flower has seemingly undergone some changes recently that have impacted the consistency of its food quality, at least according to one customer. While another customer maintains a positive view, the detailed negative feedback regarding a specific dish suggests that quality control might be an area to consider for the restaurant. Local users might want to try Red Flower to form their own opinion, keeping in mind the recent mixed reviews.
For those who have enjoyed Red Flower in the past, the recent negative review might be a cause for caution, while new customers might approach with an open mind, perhaps focusing on dishes that have historically received positive feedback. The large portion sizes mentioned in the positive review could be a significant draw for some, provided the quality meets expectations.
Ultimately, the decision to patronize Red Flower will depend on individual preferences and risk tolerance given the contrasting recent experiences. It might be helpful to seek more up-to-date reviews or even try a small order to assess the current food quality and preparation firsthand.

The food is always great. The people that work there are always friendly. We've eaten there for years.
Just 10 minutes from my home is the Red Flower located in Downtown Richlands Va. It’s a great Chinese restaurant with great food. They have reopened the dinning room, but I always get takeout. The service is fast and the food delicious. I order once every month which consists of Wonton, pork egg rolls, shrimp fried rice, beef Lo Mein, or pepper steak. But the variety of menu items are huge. The prices seem high but the amount of food you get feeds two which means the prices are very reasonable. If your looking for good Chinese food this is the place your looking for
We were so excited to try this place and so dissapointed. My daughter couldn't eat her sweet and sour chicken or the crab Rangoon. I had shrimp in lobster sauce and it wasn't even a sauce, more of a disgusting broth. They didn't even give us a fortune cookie.
