Red Bowl Port Orange

I called to place an order for pick up. After I placed my order I was hung up on. No name was asked for or time frame given. I called back to clarify and the lady said yeah she knows who I am. I’ve never been here. I arrive, the receipts are being printed out. She gives me the one to sign, tells me to sign in. Then grabs my copy and throws it in front of me. As I am watching this recipe float in the air and land, she aggressively tells me to sign again. I said I will. Grabbed my food and left. I get to work with the wrong order. I call back for a refund. Instead they drive the food to me. Which was kind. The avocado was browning and the vegetable roll did not have carrots.

Food was very good. Fried dumplings were cooked perfect, crunchy, meaty. Best Moo Shu Pork I've had. If they had put some pork in it, I would go back again. Egg roll was ok. Had to try their Fried Dumplings again, Even better than last time. Had the Orange Chicken. A little better than average. Heavy breading, but crunchy. I don't like yellow rice and couldn't find the pork. Love the dumplings, Moo Shu Pork wasn't nearly as good. Paid extra for Pork.

2024 update: service is incredibly slow now. Presentation not the same. And staff, not quite as kind as my prior visit. And their empty dining room shows. Several to-go orders waiting, but no new dine-in, between 6 and 630 Friday night. Sad to see this place go so down hill. Good sushi, great crew, and really good presentation too!!!!

Let it be known that this review is not by any means a reflection of the food, the atmosphere or the prices!!! In those 3 areas the restaurant is great. The "server" on the other hand was horrible. There was one other couple in the entire restaurant so it was by no means busy. He sat us, and went to stand by the register and was on his phone for 15 minutes and came back to get our drink and food order at the same time. He was polite, but non-existent and I am pretty sure that's the reason the place was empty. I had to ask 3 times for a box for my leftovers. We had to wait while he finished his texting or Facebooking or whatever for drink refills. Not a good way to get tips. Redbowl, you would get way more done in business if you had an attentive server.

Slow service on a slow night and food wasn't good. Took them an hour to make 3 soups and a thing of fried rice, mind you, the restaurant is near-empty. Made the incorrect order the first time only to fail a second time, too. Employees were clueless about what was going on. They were standing gossiping about who would get blamed for the wrong order all the while the food was sitting in front of them on the counter, ready for me to walk out with - solid 5 minutes of the food just sitting there getting cold... last time going and won't recommend.
