About Rasa Ria

Rasa Ria, located at 1921 W Main St, Kalamazoo, MI 49006, USA, with phone numbers (269) 381-0788 and +1 269-381-0788, is presented on the platform as a Chinese Restaurant. However, customer reviews indicate that Rasa Ria offers a culinary experience beyond traditional Chinese cuisine, specializing in Malaysian and Indonesian fare.

One customer who had frequently driven by but finally stopped was very glad they did, noting that Rasa Ria is a "small unassuming restaurant in small unassuming strip mall" serving these Southeast Asian dishes. The restaurant has a limited number of tables, with one reviewer mentioning being seated near the front. It also appears to have a significant carry-out business.

The menu is described as "extensive," offering "lots of choices" that provide a "great reason to go back." One diner enjoyed a "delicious chai-type drink" (non-alcoholic, based on the review) and followed the server's recommendation of the special, a lamb curry dish with rice. They found the lamb to be tender, the curry sauce's spice level excellent, and the rice tasty.

Another customer who was in Kalamazoo for the day decided to try Rasa Ria and was not disappointed with their choices of beef rendang and a curry puff. This further confirms the restaurant's focus on Malaysian and Indonesian specialties.

In summary, while listed as a Chinese Restaurant, Rasa Ria in Kalamazoo offers local users the opportunity to explore the rich and flavorful cuisines of Malaysia and Indonesia. Customers have praised the delicious food, including curries and rendang, and the extensive menu suggests a variety of options worth trying. Despite its small and unassuming setting, Rasa Ria seems to provide a satisfying culinary experience, making it a worthwhile stop for those seeking authentic Malaysian and Indonesian flavors.

I’ve driven by this restaurant and never stopped…don’t be me. Finally made it a point to visit Rasa Ria and glad I did. Invited my son along and he got us a table near the front (there aren’t too many tables but it seems like they have a good carry out business.) Got this delicious chai -type drink (no alcohol that I could see) and looked at their extensive menu. Was about to get some recommendations from our server, and she pointed to the special of the day…a lamb curry dish with rice. Sold. The lamb was tender, the curry sauce spice level great and the rice was tasty. Lots of choices we could have gone with on the menu, so great reason to go back.

Small unassuming restaurant in small unassuming strip mall that serves Malaysian and Indonesian fare. I was in Kalamazoo for the day so I thought I would stop in and try it. I had the beef rendang and a curry puff. I was not disappointed.

Wonderful Malaysian food in this family-run spot. The most amusing part is waiting for food whilst (sometimes) hearing lots of family bickering in another language (Malay?) Anyway, the food is great-several vegan options. Parking is tiny, just a few spots for the restaurant and another business next door-I think it’s a head shop…

The special of the day Nasi Campur - Chicken korma curry+ beef stir fry + egg relish (salbal telur)+vegs. Just the comfort food that I needed on this chilly day!!! Delicious 😋

A special place! Recommendations: Mi Sup (especially if you have a cold), fish curry (only on Tuesdays). If you're new, try any of the rendang dishes and some roti. If you like noodles, try the bakmi. Loads of vegetarian options. Don't expect white table cloths and wine pairings. Do expect good food and realness.
