About Rainbow Panda

Rainbow Panda is a Chinese restaurant located at 740 Bedford Rd in Bedford Hills, NY. Serving the local community, Rainbow Panda offers a standard Chinese restaurant experience for those seeking familiar dishes for dine-in or takeout. While a phone number was not provided in the available information, the address allows local users to locate the establishment.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, the experiences at Rainbow Panda appear to be somewhat mixed. One long-term customer of over seven years shared a generally positive perspective, noting that the food is consistent about 95% of the time. This suggests a degree of reliability in their food preparation for regular patrons. This reviewer also praised the taste of the food, mentioning that it is great and not overly salty, which can be a common concern with some Chinese cuisine. A specific positive point was the fried rice, which is prepared without peas and carrots, catering to those who prefer a more traditional preparation.

Furthermore, this long-term customer described the ambiance as the "typical Chinese restaurant feel." This likely implies a familiar and unpretentious environment that many patrons of Chinese restaurants have come to expect. It suggests a casual setting suitable for both quick meals and more relaxed dining.

However, another reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their experience, indicating that the majority of the dishes they had ordered were "sub par." This starkly contrasts with the positive experience of the long-term customer, highlighting a potential inconsistency in food quality or perhaps differing expectations among diners.

The specific dish that led this reviewer to vow never to return was the egg foo young. Their negative experience stemmed from two main issues: the absence of gravy, which is traditionally served with egg foo young, and the unexpected presence of red pepper, making the dish spicy. The reviewer stated that they had never encountered spicy egg foo young before and found it to be "terrible." This suggests a deviation from standard preparation or a lack of clear indication on the menu about potential spiciness in a typically non-spicy dish.

Based on this highly negative experience, the second reviewer strongly advised others to "avoid this place." This strong recommendation underscores the potential for a significantly disappointing meal at Rainbow Panda, at least for some customers and certain dishes.

Considering these two contrasting reviews, local users should be aware of the potential for variability in their experience at Rainbow Panda. While some long-term customers find the food consistent and enjoyable, others have found the quality to be subpar, with specific issues regarding the preparation and taste of certain dishes like the egg foo young.

The "typical Chinese restaurant feel" mentioned by one reviewer suggests a standard environment that is likely functional but not particularly noteworthy in terms of décor or ambiance. Without further information, it is difficult to provide a more detailed description of the restaurant's environment.

Similarly, the provided information does not offer any insights into the services provided by Rainbow Panda, such as the attentiveness of the staff, the efficiency of takeout service, or the availability of delivery options. Local users would need to inquire directly with the restaurant to gather information on these aspects.

Features of Rainbow Panda, beyond the style of food and the reported "typical" atmosphere, are not detailed in the reviews. The preference for fried rice without peas and carrots by one reviewer could be considered a minor feature for those with similar preferences, implying a willingness to customize dishes to some extent.

No promotional information, such as discounts, specials, or loyalty programs, was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in such offers would need to contact the restaurant directly or look for publicly advertised promotions.

In conclusion, Rainbow Panda in Bedford Hills presents a mixed picture based on the limited available customer feedback. While a long-term customer appreciates the consistent food quality (about 95% of the time) and the traditional preparation of certain dishes like the fried rice, another reviewer reported a subpar experience with multiple dishes, particularly the unexpectedly spicy and gravy-less egg foo young. The environment is described as having a "typical Chinese restaurant feel." Local users should weigh these contrasting experiences when considering Rainbow Panda for their Chinese dining needs.

I have been a customer for 7+ years. The food is consistent about 95% of the time. The food tastes great and isn't too salty. I like that the fried rice doesn't have substitutions like peas and carrots in it. It's the typical Chinese restaurant feel.

Would have been stars, but that's not an option. The majority of the dishes I've gotten from there were sub par. The dish that drove me to never go back was the egg foo young. 1st of all they did not give gravy. I tried to eat it without, but there was red pepper in it. I've never had spicy egg foo young before and it was terrible. Avoid this place.

Good tasting Chinese food at a fair price. Friendly staff and right next to the wine shop. How convenient.

Just ordered from what I thought was my favorite place rainbow panda and found a roach in the food... Not quite sure which one because we ordered several things... I called the owner up he was less then courteous and told me I was pulling a prank on him taking a roach and and covering it with sauce is not something I consider funny. He refused to give the money back....I don't know why they were closed for so long but I am definitely calling the board of health!

7 bucks for lunch specials about 10/11 for dinner. I work around there and get food there all the time for lunch. lunch comes in circle dishes while dinner comes in rectangles. fast and good. been going there 5/7 days a week no problems yet. Food looks real, taste real, no hair or anything disturbing in food yet. Generals Tso's chicken and sesame chicken great there. Fried wonton got once, was a little soggy but still good.
