QJD Peking Duck （Markham）Restaurant

We ordered $888 package. Food, overall, is good. The flavor is much richer and stronger than usual Cantonese cousin. If some dishes can be less flavorful, it will give another dynamic to the feast. My least favorite is the fish. It is the last dish, and the flavor is the same. I'm just kind of tired of it. The baked duck dessert less than 3 stars. The dough is heavy, and the red bean paste is a bit hard. Yet, the duck is very good.

Awesome Peking duck experience, I’d say one of the top 2 that I’ve been to in Canada for authentic Beijing style duck, almost comparable to China. Tip: if you get a full duck, you can take home the duck bones, add green onion + a bit of ginger for great duck soup! Overall the food here was good but I wouldn’t come back for anything other than duck. The service was alright - I’ve also been to the Mississauga location where I found the service was better.

Came for a birthday dinner, the food was fine but the experience overall was average. For starters we had the cabbage salad which was a bit too salty, and the sliced duck liver which we enjoyed. For the main we had the peony duck. It nice flavour and came with a generous serving of duck, but we sat at a corner table and had to look over another table to get to see the duck being sliced. We also had the zajiang noodles which were fine but I wish the noodles were a bit more al dente. We enjoyed the dessert of yellow pea cakes. Service was friendly but the food was average, and the restaurant atmosphere didn't feel as upscale as the prices.

We were a group of 11 celebrating my husband’s birthday and were sat at an elevated corner of the restaurant that has 3 big tables. There was absolutely no interior decoration of that corner. Wall is white, table cloth is white. The whole setting is very basic and plain. We didn’t feel like dining in an upscale Chinese restaurant. I have been to the private room of this restaurant and it’s totally a different world there. We were disappointed of the setting. Secondly, all the dishes came out barely warm that night. We only had one dish that was hot. We even had to send back one dish because it was really not edible. Service was average not exceptional. I came here again because of my first experience in the private room but didn’t expect such a big difference without the room. Will I come again? No. The price here is not cheap and we didn’t feel we got what we paid for.

Roasted Beijing duck is really good! Love the cabbage appetizer. But everything else was just okay. Don’t like the egg tofu or lamb rack.
