About QingDao Garden

Welcome to QingDao Garden, a Chinese restaurant located at 2382 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140, USA. You can contact them at (617) 492-7540 or their mobile number +1 617-492-7540 for orders and inquiries.

As a Chinese Restaurant in Cambridge, QingDao Garden seems to specialize in northern-style Chinese cuisine. One customer described it as an excellent source of Chinese comfort food, complemented by friendly service. They particularly highlighted the dumplings, noting them as some of the best northern-style they've found in the greater Boston area. The red braised pork was praised for being rich and flavorful, and the house-made cured pork belly (la rou) stir-fried with fresh vegetables was described as perfectly cooked. This reviewer also recommended inquiring about specials or off-menu items, as the la rou was a highlight not listed on the regular menu.

However, another customer reported a very negative experience. This individual, a pregnant woman craving specific items like Chinese wings and crab rangoons with pork fried rice, expressed extreme upset when their order was not fulfilled as expected. They suggested that if wings were unavailable, the restaurant should have communicated this clearly. This customer stated it was the second time such an issue had occurred and indicated they would not be returning.

In summary, QingDao Garden offers northern Chinese cuisine in Cambridge, with some customers highly recommending specific dishes like the dumplings, red braised pork, and the off-menu cured pork belly. The service was described as friendly by one reviewer. However, another customer had a significantly negative experience regarding order accuracy and communication about unavailable items, leading to dissatisfaction. Potential patrons may want to inquire about the availability of specific dishes when ordering.

Stopped in after a rough day and some excellent Chinese comfort food paired with friendly service really hit the spot. Dumplings were particularly good (some of the best northern style I’ve found in greater Boston), red braised pork was rich and flavorful, and the house-made cured pork belly (la rou) stir fried with fresh vegetables was cooked to perfection. I’d recommend asking if they have any specials/ off-menu items, as the la rou wasn’t on the menu but proved to be a particular highlight.

Horrible I am a pregnant woman who was craving Chinese wings and crabragoons with some pork fried rice and this is what I got. If they didn’t have wings the should of just said no wings period I am so upset and it’s the second time this happens never going back there

my family comes here a lot for the authentic northern Chinese dishes. My favorites are the pork and shrimp dumplings (Soo plump, juicy and flavorful) and spicy fish! They all taste home cooked and are the perfect answer to northern Chinese food cravings.

Fabulous place if you like to have delicious Chinese food. Their menu is large, but if you let the owner help you choose, he will make dishes off of the menu for you or alter a dish to your liking. Worth the trip if you are in town.

The dumplings at qingdao were recommended to me by a friend. The meat was flavorful, but I found that the wrappers were a little thick and solid (they were warm, but not hot when I ate them, so that may be a part of it). The wonton soup broth was verrryyy light. This would be great if you are not feeling too well or don’t want something very strong.
