About Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot 青蔬麻辣烫
Located at 133-30 37th Ave in Flushing, New York, Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot, also known as 青蔬麻辣烫, operates within the "Chinese Restaurant" category, offering a specific and interactive dining experience centered around the popular dish, Spicy Hot Pot (麻辣烫). This style of cuisine allows diners to customize their meals by selecting a variety of ingredients which are then cooked in a flavorful and often spicy broth.
As a Spicy Hot Pot restaurant, the primary feature of Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot is the customizable nature of the dish. Typically, customers are presented with a selection of fresh ingredients, including a wide array of vegetables (leafy greens, mushrooms, root vegetables), various types of noodles (glass noodles, rice noodles, wheat noodles), different kinds of tofu and bean products, and a range of meats and seafood (beef slices, lamb slices, fish balls, shrimp). Diners choose their desired ingredients, which are then weighed or priced per portion. These selections are subsequently cooked in a communal or individual pot of simmering broth that is infused with a rich and often spicy flavor profile.
The "Spicy Hot Pot" concept generally emphasizes a casual and interactive dining atmosphere. While specific details about the environment of Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot are not provided, customers can likely expect a setting that accommodates the process of selecting ingredients and enjoying the hot pot meal. This might include refrigerated display cases showcasing the fresh ingredients, tables equipped with cooking elements (either individual pots or a larger communal pot), and comfortable seating arrangements.
In terms of services, Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot likely operates on a model where customers select their ingredients, and the restaurant staff then cooks them in the chosen broth. Depending on the establishment, there might be options for different levels of spiciness for the broth. Customers can anticipate assistance from staff in navigating the ingredient selection process and understanding the pricing. Given the nature of Spicy Hot Pot, the focus is generally on the preparation and cooking of the customized meals.
It is crucial to consider the feedback from online reviews when evaluating Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot. One review states, "Food was bad. Price was bad. Service was worse and felt like I owe you guys when I went to pick up. And there’s no utensils or napkins. A small bowl of fishballs (shown in photos) that was supposed to cost $18." Another review echoes the pricing concern, stating, "Definitely over priced. Just some fishballs and sausage do not worth $18."
These reviews raise significant concerns regarding the quality of the food, the pricing of the items, and the level of customer service experienced. The lack of utensils and napkins mentioned in one review also points to a potential oversight in basic service provisions. The specific example of a small bowl of fishballs costing $18 suggests that some items might be perceived as significantly overpriced by customers.
Given this negative feedback regarding food quality, pricing, and service, potential local users should approach Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot with caution. The reviews indicate a possibility of unsatisfactory food, unexpectedly high prices for the portions received, and a less-than-desirable service experience. The mention of missing basic dining necessities like utensils and napkins further adds to the concerns raised by these customers.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot. In light of the negative reviews concerning pricing and food quality, it would be advisable for potential customers to inquire about the cost of ingredients and perhaps even see the items before making a purchase. It might also be prudent to consider other Spicy Hot Pot options in the Flushing area that have received more positive feedback regarding their food quality, pricing, and service.
In conclusion, Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot (青蔬麻辣烫) in Flushing, NY, is a Chinese restaurant categorized under Spicy Hot Pot. The core offering is a customizable meal where diners select their preferred ingredients to be cooked in a flavorful broth. However, online reviews highlight significant issues with the quality of the food, the pricing of the items (with some customers finding them to be excessively expensive), and the level of customer service, including a lack of basic amenities. Local users considering dining at or ordering from Qing Shu Spicy Hot Pot should be aware of this feedback and may want to exercise caution or seek further information before making a decision.

Food was bad. Price was bad. Service was worse and felt like I owe you guys when I went to pick up. And there’s no utensils or napkins. A small bowl of fishballs (shown in photos) that was supposed to cost $18. Do yourself a favor and delist yourself from Too Good to Go while you’re at it.
Definitely over priced. Just some fishballs and sausage do not worth $18.
If you cannot make spicy hot pot for those soup, why is there optional for extra spicy. The attitude of workers is awful. Throw the whole thing by not touching it.
Food was good and amazing and I LOVED the atmosphere. The service was okay
Expensive and unpalatable
