About Qi Steam Kitchen

Qi Steam Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant located at 5966 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA. They can be contacted at phone number (323) 879-9313 or mobile phone +1 323-879-9313.

As a Chinese restaurant, Qi Steam Kitchen seems to have gained positive attention for its steamed offerings, especially its dumplings. A standout dish appears to be the Crystal Dumpling, identified on the menu as a prawn dumpling, which has been described as excellent. Another highly recommended item is the dessert sesame paste filled buns, which one customer found "amazzzzing."

While the dumplings are a noted strength, one review mentioned that the beef noodle dish lacked a bit of flavor, although the beef itself was tender. This suggests that while some dishes are highly praised, the quality might vary across the menu.

Regarding service, one customer provided a suggestion related to drink orders, noting that drinks are served with ice by default and suggesting that the restaurant could proactively ask customers if they prefer their drinks without ice. This indicates a generally attentive service, with a minor suggestion for improvement in anticipating customer preferences.

Based on the available information, Qi Steam Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles that excels in its dumpling selection, particularly the prawn crystal dumplings, and offers a memorable dessert in the sesame paste filled buns. While one noodle dish received less favorable feedback regarding flavor, the restaurant appears to offer a pleasant dining experience with attentive service.

I loved it. The dessert sesame paste filled buns are amazzzzing. I would only suggest they ask you first if you want ice in your drink, because its brought with ice by default (like anywhere else here 🙄) and it would be nice to remind you that they could make it withouht it.

The strong suite of the place are certainly the dumplings. The Crystal Dumpling - the prawn dumpling on the menu was excellent 👍 The beef noodle lacked a bit of flavor, although the beef was tender.

Delicious food, feels really homely. I recommend the mapo tofu bowl. Clean restaurant and nice atmosphere. Thoughtful service, as the server noticed we only ordered vegetarian food and didn’t serve the sauce with the dumplings because it contained seafood and instead recommended the soy sauce. Convenient parking.

The food was great and I really enjoyed it all. It’s nice to see a place that has a special, like free red bean buns for dessert or a 13oz Thai tea. I really enjoyed it. The Singapore noodles were really good, and the pork xiao long was amazing as well. Scallion pancakes were alright but I would get again. Def coming back. Staff was very friendly.

Only ordered three things from this place, siu mai, popcorn shrimp, and cucumber salad. We thought we ordered Dan Dan noodles but it never came. First of, the interior of the restaurant is actually nice, albeit the condiment section on the table was a little dirty. Second, the service is just average. Nothing to write home about. Third, the flavors of the dishes were underwhelming. Now I've had many siu mai from around the world and I have to say this is the blandest one I've ever had in my life. Even the cucumber salad, which I always order if I see it on a Chinese restaurant menu, was meh. The popcorn shrimp tasted life it was store-bought (the texture of the breading was off, like it was undercooked). The Chinese tea served is cheap and an affront to Chinese tea culture. I do think this restaurant has a lot of potential, seeing as it's mother company is a famous restaurant chain in China. I think, the flavors were toned down for the intended market in the area.
