(Would have been a 5 star rating except for some issues at the end. Roughly a 3.5 star after issues outlined below.) I’ve been here several times and food has always hit the spot. Most recently brought my folks here and ordered: Kou Shui Ji (chicken), Mongolian Beef and Red Braised Pork Belly. Got my and my Asian parents stamp of approval. Edit: Slight hiccup at payment. Gratuity was automatically added at checkout even though we only had 3 people (waitress was amenable to removing and allowing us to enter our own gratuity). There was also a 4% credit card charge which while it didn’t amount to much, felt like a hidden fee that was sprung on us (according to the waitress there was a sign at the entrance stating so. Turns out there was but you’d never see it walking in - only walking out).
Though the place was very crowded the night I was there. Everyone was very attentive, the food was dynamite and the bar staff was very friendly. The good hearted attitude there made for the entire restaurant and event space upstairs to feel like part of the family there. I was even graced by trying on a very pretty ladies crown. I Highly recommend this place for events or just a great dinner and drinks.
I make sure to stop here every time I’m in New York. I love Ollie’s and everyone I have brought has enjoyed it as well. It was really nice, especially this time of the year, to find a place that is delicious that didn’t have a wait or a reservation requirement. I got there, General Tso’s chicken and egg drop soup and they were both so delicious, as always. I love the atmosphere of this place. It almost gives old school Italian vibes. You’ve gotta stop here if you’re in town, you won’t regret it.
I enjoyed my meal here after a long day of business meetings. I was by myself though, and it seemed like the restaurant was more accomodating to parties of two or more. At any rate, the food came to my table piping hot, and my mixed cocktail was wonderful. This was right across the street from my hotel, so easy access and then head to my overnight stay. Beef and vegetables were quite good.
Food is delish, and as fresh as it comes, best Chinese I've had hands down
