Pub 47 - Huntley

The Blue Moons were fantastic but we were disappointed with their pizza... it tasted like a frozen pizza.. crust seemed pre-made but could be fresh just didn't seem like it... not sure why they serve it on a cardboard tray... they do look good...

Nice place, and we had a really good server. Food was pretty good for a bar. The French onion soup was delicious, cheese curds good, and I give the pizza a 7.4 One Bite score. The fish basket looked really good with generous portions of fish and fries. Can't get 5 stars from me without something special or really impressive. It was good, service was excellent. You won't be disappointed.

$$ Surprised to find not typical pub fare. Meals are on par with high end restaurants but reasonably priced plus a great place to watch sports on the plethora of television sets. Had another great family meal that didn't break the bank. 09/30/23 This place still doesn't disappoint. Current special is bottomless pasta bowls on Saturdays. Much better tasting here than at chain establishments. Service is very attentive. It's a fun place to eat. 06/29/24 Food was still good. Possibly had a newer server tonight but it was fine.

UPDATE: I wanted to update my review to highlight the efforts made by the team at Pub 47 in addressing my concerns. I especially want to thank Jordan T. for going above and beyond to assure me that this was an isolated incident and that steps have been taken to prevent it from happening again. We're looking forward to returning to Pub 47 soon, hoping to enjoy the great food and service we're used to. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We have been to Pub 47 on many occasions and for the most part we have been pleased with the food and service, and left a positive review. Today we had a very poor experience. So much so that I feel the need to write a new review. As we were seated we noticed a number of flies in the restaurant area. Our server (Grace) greeted us and took our order. While we were waiting for our food the flies got worse. There were so many around us we were using the menus to shoo and swat them. On a nearby table other customers noticed our situation and commented to us that they too were inundated with flies. We counted more than half a dozen around our table alone, it was very concerning to us as flies in that number are often an indication of poor sanitation. It was so bad we were at the point of asking for our food to go, then our server delivered our order to our table and so we decided to stick it out. This is where we had the second issue. My wife had ordered her "usual" Cheese Curds, a full order. What was brought out to the table was barley half an order. We asked our server if there was a mistake and had we been given a half order. Her reply was a flat "No", when we challenged that answer providing feedback that we order this every time we eat at Pub 47 the answer was still a firm "No" followed up with "they just put in as much as they like, so the amount you get can vary", we were shocked at that answer. Now my wife takes pictures of her food and shares it on social media so she did a quick look on her phone and found pictures of the last 4 times she ordered cheese curds, the difference was significant. About 5mins later our server, Grace followed up with us and said she asked in the kitchen and confirmed we had a full order, we then showed her a couple of pictures from previous orders. Her reply was "nothing I can do about it". We ate a little of our food and then asked for to-go boxes as we were tired of fighting with the flies. Paid the bill, left a tip and walked out.

We enjoyed a Samurai burger, the parmesan truffle fries, and a cup of beer cheese soup. The burger and fries were delicious!! The soup was just fine. The menu was a bit on the pricey side. The service was excellent!! Thank you Gina for your wonderful personality and smile!!
