Food was outstanding and service was incredibly quick. We got the salt and pepper chicken which was crispy and juicy. I also asked for chili oil on the side which paired beautifully with the chicken and biscuit. We also got the oyster mushroom rice rolls with the steak which was THE HIGHLIGHT! The steak was incredibly flavorful and tender, the rice rolls had a beautiful chewy, sticky consistency with a nice umami depth, and the oyster mushrooms provided a nice bouncy bite. Also highly recommend The Elegant Lady drink - it’s so refreshing and yummy!
Ambitious, flavorful, and proudly Asian-American. Probably the first Asian fusion restaurant concept that I haven’t immediately rolled my eyes at. The curry we got was incredible, and the fried chicken and cornbread was just so creative. The decor is great, gives a really nice vibe and the staff was super friendly! We loved our bartender.
We had a great time here Saturday. Loved the atmosphere, friendly service and creative takes on Cantonese classics. We had to get the salt and pepper chicken that everyone raves about and were not disappointed. Super crispy and tender and just a fun take on the dish, served with plum jam and scallion biscuits. The walnut shrimp was also exceptional, as were our starters of potstickers and the yellowfin crudo. I did find their cocktail selection a bit weak but not enough to detract from an awesome dinner. I’ll be back!
The brunch was phenomenal! We pretty much ordered every dish on the Brunch Menu, and the service was top notch. We had a reservation for 6 but had two more join us, and the host put us as close together as possible (two bar seats and a round table next to it). Our waiter felt bad for separating us, but was not his fault by any means since we are the ones that added two extra bodies. So he sent some complimentarily HK French toast to the elders which was SUPER appreciated 👍 Best service, best dishes, and best experience we had this weekend in NYC.
Overall 2.5/5 or 3/5 Value 2/5 Vibes / Ambiance 4.5/5 Service 4/5 Food 2.5/5 This has been on my to try list for a long long time and glad I was able to do a walk in for lunch time They’re also on the Michelin guide recommended list so wanted to see how good they were but I had so many friends telling me it’s not that good lol and its so true The interior is very cute, love the vibe, recommends me of retro HK feeling Mainly came here for the toasts and cha chan taang stuff! What we got: - lava French toast 4/5: this was good but not amazing maybe bc I just came back from HK. Worth trying once if you’re here tho - bolo bao toast 2.5/5: this was honestly disappointing, very bready, very tough but got it bc it looked so cute - fried chicken sandwich 4/5: this was decent, chicken was tender and the sauce pairing was unique HK milk tea 3.5/5: lacking flavors ish Lemon ice tea 3/5: also lacking flavors :/ Would I come back? Maybe to try out the dinner bc it’s different but I wouldn’t have high expectations
