Customer Reviews
We spent part of our date weekend celebrating two amazing months together at Poor Calvin’s, and as always, it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the tone—elegant, cozy, and just the right level of energy for a romantic evening. The customer service was top-tier. Every interaction with the staff felt warm and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they take pride in making each visit special. Now let’s talk about the drinks—crafted to perfection. The cocktail menu is creative, and everything we ordered had that perfect balance of flavor and presentation. Each sip felt like a celebration. And the food… absolutely exceptional. Every dish was beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. You can taste the thought and quality in every bite. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifth, the consistency is what keeps you coming back. Poor Calvin’s never misses. It was the perfect spot to mark a meaningful moment with someone special. Highly recommend for date nights, anniversaries, or just when you want to treat yourself to an experience that feels effortlessly elevated.
This was the best Asian fusion I’ve ever had. Ashley was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal. Her knowledge of the menu and how she explained items were high class. The food was unforgettable. However, Ashley made the experience one not to forget. I will never forget my trip to Atlanta because of the visit to Poor Calvin.
The best part of my business trip to Atlanta. We had read about it from Best Thing I Ever Ate on the Food Network, and since it was so close to our hotel, we knew we had to try it. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful, explaining everything in detail and giving us great recommendations. We went with the popular lobster fried rice and were able to fit dessert even after finishing the generous portion on rice. Both the rice and the red velvet cake were unique, beautiful, and simply delicious. Highly recommend and will certainly visit again when I'm in the area!
If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Food is amazing, vibe is perfect, cocktails define craft, and service is above and beyond. Calvin, the owner, leads his team by example. Seems to be such a humble and caring soul, he definitely takes pride in his establishment. The man is on the floor and in the action with his team. He is in the kitchen, serves, and even sets and cleans the table. You can feel the love in every bite. 1000% recommend. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!
I had the special that day and it was meatloaf on mash with a lobster tail on top. Absolutely the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. Delicious. I tasted my friend’s lobster fried rice which was amazing. So was the curry scallops with coconut brown rice. AND the portions are very generous! Our server was wonderful and very knowledgeable. She recommended the special and the Lichees Martini! Didn’t miss!
