About Pok-U

Located at 1024 E Buckeye Rd suite 180, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA, Pok-U is presented as a Chinese Restaurant on the platform but appears to be a multi-concept establishment housing "four different restaurants into one." This unique layout has been noted by customers as "confusing."

Based on customer reviews, experiences at Pok-U have been varied. One customer who tried the "classic Poke bowl" described it as "very disappointing." Issues included the rice being "very hot" and tuna with inconsistent texture ("hard and soft"). This customer's request for a refund was denied, with the option of exchange only. They also noted a lack of apology for their dissatisfaction. The alternative dish chosen, the "Phili cheese steak moms way," was described as "okay" but "bland" with "soggy" bread.

Another customer, who visited with their sister, also expressed disappointment. While the "premade bowls" were considered "fine," the "build your own bowl" option incurred an extra $5 charge. This customer, who is gluten-free, was pleased to find gluten-free soy sauce available. However, both their bowls contained a "huge scoop of imitation crab," which is unsuitable for those with celiac disease. This reviewer concluded that the quality was "mediocre for the price," suggesting a reliance on "lots of rice and imitation crab" to keep prices low.

Regarding service, one customer mentioned an initial confusion about drink availability. Another customer reported a negative interaction when expressing concerns about the food quality, noting that the staff member looked "annoyed."

In summary, Pok-U in Phoenix offers a multi-cuisine experience under one roof. However, customer reviews indicate potential inconsistencies in food quality, particularly with the poke bowls and Philly cheesesteaks. While gluten-free options like soy sauce are available, the inclusion of imitation crab in build-your-own bowls may be a concern for those with dietary restrictions. The overall value for money has also been questioned. Local users considering Pok-U should be aware of these mixed reviews.

I decided to try the classic Poke bowl and it was very disappointing. When I got there I asked for asked for Diet Coke and the girl at counter said they didn’t have any. A guy interrupted her and said they did have it but then suggested a different drink. I decided to just get a sparking water bc I felt like there gonna give me regular coke lol. The rice was very hot and the tuna had hard and soft texture. I asked i kindly asked if I could get a refund but they said they could only exchange it for something else. The guy looked annoyed that went up to say something about the food tasting weird. They didn’t even apologize even tho I had barely took a few bites. I decided to choose the Phili cheese steak moms way. It was okay, it was was bland and the bread was also soggy. The whole layout of the place was also confusing, it’s basically four different restaurants into one.

Went here with my sister and myself and found ourselves disappointed. The premade bowls are fine, but the build your own bowl is an extra $5. I am gluten free so I was happy to find out they had the option of gf soy sauce. When the bowls came out, each had a huge scoop of imitation crab, which as a celiac I can't eat. Overall, mediocre quality for the price. Lots of rice and imitation crab to keep prices low, I suppose.

I ordered through DoorDash since they didn’t have a phone number and my sushi was HOT and cooked. Plus the bowl is 90% rice. For $20 this was bad.

Absolutely terrible. I ordered off of Uber eats. The shrimp is flavorless, I paid 50 cents for sauce and didn't get enough to cover my bowl. It does not taste good and is wayyy too expensive for how it tastes. Save your money for a better poke bowl.... Those pictures in the review at the bottom ARE NOTHING like the bowl I received.
