When choosing a local dining option, especially one that has been serving the community for a significant period, understanding recent customer experiences is crucial. Plymouth Garden, according to one long-time customer of over 20 years, has undergone several changes since new ownership took over, and these changes have not been perceived positively by this particular individual. This customer noted a change in ingredients, specifically mentioning thicker noodles in the lo mein dish. While they appreciated the introduction of online ordering, they reported an issue with the timing of order preparation, stating that orders placed at certain times were sitting out and were cold by the time of pickup, a stark contrast to the "super hot" food they were accustomed to receiving previously. This long-term patron expressed that the restaurant is "just not the same" as it used to be.

A first-time customer also shared a negative experience. They ordered sesame chicken and found it to contain significantly more breading than chicken, with only thin strips of chicken inside. They also described the chicken as "extra crispy" to the point of being hard to eat and unenjoyable, although they did find the sauce to be good. Furthermore, this customer reported that the fried rice tasted oily and was very dry. The spring rolls were described as the "worst" they had ever had, lacking flavor and being more soggy and oily than crispy. Based on this experience, the customer concluded that if Plymouth Garden was once a great place, it is sadly no longer so, and they indicated an intention to choose a different restaurant in the future.

Ever since the new owners have taken over, I’ve seen several changes that have taken place many of them, not good. They’ve changed the ingredients. The noodles are thicker in the lo mein. I’ve been eating here for 20+ years. I’d liked the new online ordering but now if you order at a certain time it sits and it’s cold by the time you pick it up it’s in in the front and it’s not even hot when you pick it up . It used to be Super hot when we picked it up and that’s what I liked about it. It’s just not the same.

Tried this place for the first time going off their 4 star reviews. Got my food sesame chicken, there is way more breading than chicken in each peice. I'd prefer to get actual chucks of chicken inside the breading, not a thin strip. They were extra crispy making it hard to eat, and just not enjoyable. The sauce was good. Fried rice tasted luke oil and was very dry. Spring rolls were the worst I've had, not flavorful, more soggy and oily than crispy. If this use to be a great place, it sadly is no longer. I guess I'll just go to panda express next time.

It is very fast and convenient. Like the taste of food, not the order counter though. Was once a regular for pickup orders till noticed it was hard to digest. Noticed that glaze/sauce stays glossy and sweet after a few test freezing it (did not freeze) and microwave it (did not burn like sugar) I can see it wasn't sugar but high fructose corn syrup, just like Hyvee Chinese take out corner. It tastes good though. If you don't care and no issues about indigestion.

It was hit or miss. The first time there the chicken wings, fried rice, and chow mein were good. Second time not so much.
