About Plaza Dragon

Welcome to Plaza Dragon, a Chinese restaurant located at 58 John Stark Hwy in Newport, New Hampshire. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, Plaza Dragon offers takeout service to its customers. Based on recent online reviews, the experiences at Plaza Dragon appear to be somewhat contrasting, with one customer reporting issues with order accuracy and food quality, while another praised the speed and friendliness of the service and the quality of the food.

One customer who placed an order online for pickup shared a negative experience, particularly concerning the accuracy of their order and the quality of the food received. The order consisted of a simple request for chicken noodle soup and egg rolls. While the order was reportedly ready for pickup as scheduled, upon arriving home, the customer discovered that they had been given chicken and rice soup instead of chicken noodle soup. Furthermore, the description of the chicken and rice soup was unfavorable, noting very little "chicken" and a significant amount of rice. The few pieces of chicken present were described as small, stringy, very soft, and mushy, accompanied by a weak broth. The egg rolls, the other item in the order, were also described as soft and mushy, indicating a potential issue with their preparation or texture. This negative experience led the customer to state that it would be "a while" before they would return to Plaza Dragon, and they would definitely avoid ordering online in the future. This review highlights potential issues with order fulfillment accuracy for online orders and concerns about the texture and quality of some of their staple dishes, especially during potentially busy times like New Year's Eve, which was mentioned in the review.

In contrast to this negative feedback, another customer reported a positive experience with takeout at Plaza Dragon. This reviewer described the service as "fast & friendly" and stated that the food was "great." This positive assessment led them to conclude that they would "definitely be back." This review suggests that Plaza Dragon is capable of providing satisfactory takeout service with good quality food and pleasant customer interactions. The stark difference between these two recent reviews indicates a potential inconsistency in the restaurant's performance, possibly depending on the specific dishes ordered, the time of service (e.g., a busy holiday), or other factors.

Based on the limited information available from these two reviews, it is challenging to form a comprehensive picture of the overall environment, services, and features of Plaza Dragon. One review focuses solely on a negative takeout experience involving an inaccurate order and poor food quality, while the other describes a positive takeout experience with fast, friendly service and great food. Neither review provides details about the restaurant's dine-in environment, if that option is available, or any specific features that might distinguish Plaza Dragon from other Chinese restaurants in the area. There is also no mention of any promotional information.

Given the conflicting feedback, local users in Newport, NH, considering Plaza Dragon might want to exercise caution, particularly when placing online orders, as there is a report of an inaccurate order and subpar food quality associated with this method. However, there is also a positive report of fast and friendly service with great food for a takeout order. This suggests that the quality of experience might vary. If you are planning to order from Plaza Dragon, it might be prudent to double-check your order upon pickup, especially if ordering online, and perhaps inquire about the preparation methods for dishes like the soups and egg rolls to ensure they meet your expectations. As there is no information about the dine-in experience or any special promotions, potential customers will need to weigh these contrasting takeout experiences when making their decision. Ordered on-line, it was ready for pickup as scheduled. A simple order of chicken noodle soup & egg rolls: granted it's New Year's Eve, but getting home I find chicken & rice soup, with very little "chicken" and a ton of rice. The small, stringy pieces of chicken were very soft/mushy, with a weak broth. The egg rolls were also soft & mushy. It'll be a while before I go back, and I definitely won't order "online"!

I've had multiple bad experiences here, which is why I'm now finally writing a review. 1. The first time I went there, they were still open for dine-in. My fiance and I decided to go for lunch. During lunch, the owner's son came up to our table with a matchbox car, and was using us, our table, and our plates as a race track, for the entire meal, which we rushed through to get away from him. His mom kept yelling at him, but he didn't listen and she didn't enforce discipline. He then proceeded to question my fiance about the way he looked. (Update: There have been 2 instances since of their kids rudely commenting on the way people in my party look.) 2. The owner's daughter charged me $85.00 for a lunch combo (was supposed to be $8.50, and when I politely mentioned it, she wasn't wanting to fix it. I asked to speak to her mom, who then fixed it. 3. I went in to get my take-out and there was a customer in front of me successfully paying on their credit card. It was my turn so I handed the woman my credit card. She said "We don't take credit cards." I said "You just took their credit card as payment." She repeated herself. So I said okay and went to walk out. She started yelling to me "Where are you going?!" I said "To an ATM to get cash out." She sighed and kind of grunted and said "Fine I'll take your credit card!". And proceeded to charge my card with no issues. 4. When you get sweet and sour chicken, they charge $3.00 for a 2oz sweet and sour sauce. I've never heard of this at any other Chinese restaurant.
