Pisces Sushi and Global Bistro

If you're looking amazing food or Sushi, look no further, Pisces Sushi and Global Bistro is it! I always start off with the Wasabi Caesar salad, the flavor is world class! Today we tried several different rolls. The Bubba Gump, Volcano, Aztec, and the Everything bagel roll. They were all amazing, I'd have to say that the Aztec roll was my favorite. I've been to a lot of Sushi places, and I really have to say, this one is top shelf! They source the freshest ingredients, I've been a few times and everything has been on point! I work in the seafood industry, and this is as fresh as it gets! Chef also brought out a roll that was made with scallops, I feel terrible for forgetting the name, but it was absolutely out of this world! I wish I could give it 10 stars, because I definitely would!

This is one of my favorite spots to have dinner and a cocktail in downtown Dunedin! The staff is always knowledgeable about new dishes on the menus and their staff seems to always remain consistent with quality and experience. It’s great for a date night. It’s great for an early dinner with the kids. It’s also great if you’re looking for a girls dinner out, to escape for a few hours. They have a beautiful bar area with many upgraded choices for cocktail lovers. Their cocktails are fabulous and they’re always making fun additions to the menu.

The fact that I’d rather go to bed hungry after a long pregnancy than finally indulge in my beloved sushi says everything about the quality, preparation, and overall execution of this place. I eat sushi like it’s my last meal on Earth—and on top of that, I’m a private chef—so I know what I’m talking about. Sure, the rolls looked decent on the outside, but that didn’t prepare me for how downright terrible they were on the inside. I ordered the *Dunedin Dream*, which turned out to be more of a nightmare. The fish inside was practically dust—just crumbs of something that used to be seafood, buried under an avalanche of over-battered “grouper.” Except, let’s be real, whatever that was, it wasn’t grouper. In a county where grouper is a staple, it’s actually impressive how badly you fumbled it. Instead of tender, flaky fish, I got battered wood chips. And don’t get me started on the rice—so much vinegar it felt like a punishment. Then there was the *Pink Panther* roll, which absolutely lived up to its name—it robbed me blind. Just shrimp and cucumber, completely overpowered by that same aggressively sour rice, with no balance, no depth, and frankly, no point. And the chutoro? Chewy, full of gristle, and stringy enough to double as dental floss—except you’d have to floss again afterward to get rid of it. Honestly, I want my money back. The only remotely enjoyable thing I had was the ice cream on the torte, which says a lot. Owning a restaurant in a prime Dunedin location and cutting corners like this is wild behavior. Please give me a refund.

Popped in on a Sunday for dinner and the place was packed. We got a spot at the sushi bar. The chefs were friendly and engaging. Our server was TOP NOTCH. The food did not disappoint. We got the edamame, vegetable roll, California roll and spicy tuna. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back!
