there is so much potential but a few fails. we come by every few months to see if anything changes for the better and is seems down hill recently - frenchtoast is great but other food like eggs & meat don’t taste fresh enough. coffee is also hit or miss today was a gross miss. like most places under staffed but waiting 20min for a check and not getting checked on at all is not cool - way over priced for the quality

Would recommend coming here if you're visiting the Pocono Mountains! Very cute and friendly diner with cheap options. And the food is good, too!

If you’re lookin’ for a good ol’ hearty meal, lemme tell ya, Pioneer Diner is the place to be! I moseyed on in for breakfast, and I tell ya what, I had myself one of the best meals in a long while. Them eggs over easy were somethin’ special—just savory as could be. And that bacon? Crispy like it’s s’posed to be, with a perfect balance of tangy and salty. But it didn’t stop there. Them home fries—lord have mercy—they were outta this world! Just the right amount of salt, and cooked up just right. Then, to top it all off, I had myself a Belgian waffle, and lemme tell ya, that waffle was somethin’ else! Light as a feather, flaky, and just the right kinda sweet. It was the cherry on top of an already fine meal. The folks workin’ there were friendly as can be, made me feel right at home, and the prices? Mighty fair if you ask me. And don’t even get me started on the speed of the service—didn’t even have to wait long! So if you’re hankerin’ for a top-notch breakfast or lunch, Pioneer Diner’s where you wanna go, no doubt about it!

I ate at this dump many, many moons ago. I brought my elderly mother here for lunch one Saturday afternoon, and it was busy. We waited in line, and as our turn came, a table opened up. My mother could no longer stand, so we went over, and she sat at the booth. A very rude and ignorant server—or actually, I think "country bumpkin" would be a better term—named Hillary ordered us to get up. She then escorted us to another booth and, in an annoyed and arrogant manner, told us to sit there. I called her a few things, and my mother told her, "You're a very rude, ignorant girl." To which she responded, "I'm not the only ignorant one here." Mercifully, she wasn't our server. Toward the end of the meal, my mother asked her name, but she just walked away. I later got her name, Hillary, from another server. I never did write a letter to the owner, but I also never went back. I’ve passed that dump many times since. Back then, there weren’t many other options in the Mount Pocono area, but now there are—so eat elsewhere. Judging from the other reviews, this place hasn’t improved at all. In fact, it’s probably gotten worse. Hillary, if you happen to be reading this, I’d be curious to know what exactly you took issue with—or rather, what you failed to do in life. Are you now struggling to make ends meet, renting a run-down trailer paid for by social welfare, with multiple children from different fathers—if you even know who the fathers are? Just a thought.
