Pinwheel Garden Dumpling and Noodle Bar

I was super excited about the menu but wasn't crazy about my meal and the flavoring. I had the Thai Basil Fried Rice. Perhaps I can give it another try and select something else next time. The ambiance in nice and chill but a bit small with uncomfortable seating. I think it's best for takeout. The staff was friendly and service was quick!

I got the Mushroom Drunken Udon and it was delicious. I debated adding a protein but it was pretty good even without it. They have some outdoor seating while the weather is still nice.

The dumplings weren't really good at all, but the scallion pancakes and ramen were both top tier. Veryyy large portions too. Since they're not really set up for dine-in you get paper cups, paper napkins, etc. But if you're cool with low key and are looking for a casual spot, this place works. And the staff is super nice.

Unpopular opinion - found the food here underwhelming and overpriced. The menu feels confused and interprets Asian fusion as just swapping around asian and western ingredients, sauces, and bases. Starkest example is the beef bolognese sauce served over rice. I felt that the two components did nothing to complement or elevate each other and the sauce was lacking texture and overly acidic. They also do a scallion pancake that is thick and doughy, and IMO less good than any rendition from your average Chinese restaurant. They charge for chili oil and apply 20% gratuity for parties of 4 or more.

All I have to say is that I realized I would be returning home sad, missing Pinwheel noodles, when my bowl came to my table. I knew I was not going to get the same delicious bowl back home. Tasty dumpling appetizer, a side of their yummy-crispy kimchi, a very fulfilling and delicious drunken mushroom Udon bowl.
