Ping Pong Cafe is a Chinese restaurant located at 5400 S Miami Blvd STE 132, Durham, NC 27703, USA. Operating under the platform category of Chinese Restaurants, Ping Pong Cafe offers Chinese cuisine and related services to the Durham, North Carolina community.

For inquiries or to place orders, Ping Pong Cafe can be contacted at the phone number (919) 941-2880 or via mobile phone at +1 919-941-2880. These contact details are useful for customers looking to inquire about the menu, operating hours, takeout options, or any other relevant information.

Customer reviews for Ping Pong Cafe present a somewhat mixed picture, with positive feedback on certain food items contrasted by concerns regarding customer service. One reviewer noted a particular way the restaurant prepares chicken wings, separating them into two pieces, which they found somewhat unusual. However, they did concede that the wings were good and specifically enjoyed the batter. This suggests that while some aspects of their preparation might be unconventional, the taste of certain dishes is appreciated.

Another reviewer expressed a strong affinity for the crab rangoo, stating they visit Ping Pong Cafe often specifically for this item. However, their recent experience was marred by what they described as "very rude" behavior from a staff member, who allegedly tossed the food at them and was curt despite the reviewer's politeness. This negative customer service experience was significant enough for the reviewer to vow to seek their crab rangoo elsewhere in the future.

These reviews indicate that while Ping Pong Cafe might offer some well-liked food items, such as the chicken wings (despite their preparation) and the crab rangoo, there are potential issues with customer service that could negatively impact the overall experience. The stark contrast between positive feedback on food and negative feedback on service is something prospective customers should consider.

As a Chinese restaurant, Ping Pong Cafe likely offers a range of dishes common in Chinese cuisine. These typically include various rice and noodle dishes, stir-fried entrees featuring different meats (like chicken, beef, and pork) and seafood combined with vegetables, soups, and appetizers. The specific mentions of chicken wings and crab rangoo in the reviews confirm that these are part of their menu. Chicken wings are a popular appetizer in many Chinese restaurants, often served fried and with various sauces. Crab rangoo, a crispy fried wonton filled with cream cheese and crab meat, is another common and well-loved appetizer. Without a complete menu available online, it is recommended to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their full selection of dishes.

In terms of services, based on the nature of the reviews (one mentioning picking up food and another implying a takeout order), Ping Pong Cafe likely primarily offers takeout services. The lack of mention of dine-in facilities or delivery suggests that customers typically order food to be taken away. However, to confirm the availability of dine-in or delivery options, it would be best to contact the restaurant directly.

The environment of Ping Pong Cafe is not described in the provided reviews. As a takeout-focused establishment, the ambiance might be more functional than decorative, prioritizing efficiency for order pickup. Factors such as cleanliness and the general appearance of the ordering area would contribute to the customer's perception of the environment. Without specific details, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive description of the cafe's atmosphere.

Features of Ping Pong Cafe that can be inferred from the reviews include their preparation of chicken wings (separated into two pieces with a well-liked batter) and their popular crab rangoo, which seems to be a standout item for at least one customer. However, a significant potential drawback appears to be inconsistent customer service, with at least one instance of rude behavior reported. The contrast in feedback suggests that while the food might have its merits, the service experience could be unpredictable.

There is no promotional information available for Ping Pong Cafe in the provided data. Chinese restaurants sometimes offer lunch specials, combination deals, or discounts on certain days or for specific order amounts. To find out if Ping Pong Cafe has any current promotions, customers would need to check local advertising, online platforms, or contact the restaurant directly.

In conclusion, Ping Pong Cafe in Durham, NC, is a Chinese restaurant that seems to offer some popular food items, notably the crab rangoo and chicken wings with a well-received batter. However, there are concerns raised about the customer service, with at least one report of rude behavior from a staff member. The primary service appears to be takeout. Potential customers might want to consider the positive feedback on the food against the negative feedback on service when deciding whether to patronize Ping Pong Cafe. For more information on their menu, services (like dine-in or delivery), and any potential promotions, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

I love their crab rangoo and so I come here often to get that but today the woman was just very rude. She tossed my food at me and was very short with me. I was very nice and polite, but their customer service is horrible and so I went to the car to grab my phone to take a picture of her so I can do this review. I’ll have to find my crab rangoo somewhere else from now own

Ordered General Tso chicken and plain lo mein in a combo. The food tasted ok. It did NOT taste ok on the way back up. Place seems hit or miss based on comments. For me, it was a big miss.

If I could give 0 stars I would!! When I say this was the WORST orange chicken I’ve ever had, I mean that. I knew it from the moment I walked in and seen it, I even addressed it with the lady up front and she ignored my concerns. So I went home attempted to try it hoping it tasted better than it looked, and was completely disappointed. The chicken was bland with no taste, minimal sauce, and was just down right gross. I called back to either get a refund or an exchange for possibly another kind of chicken hoping it would be prepared better. The lady specifically stated “you ordered that chicken so it’s your problem. You cannot get an exchange.” And then hung up in my face. I will NEVER go back here again. I went against my intuition ignoring all the negative comments and decided to give them a chance anyway just to be disappointed. WORST food and WORST service thus far.
