Based on available information, including customer reviews, here’s an objective look at what Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors offers:

Cuisine and Flavors:

Pick Up Stix offers a menu with a focus on fresh Asian flavors. According to one customer, some dishes exhibit a balance of sweet and bitter notes, such as the Chicken Pad Thai. This suggests a potential for complex and well-rounded flavor profiles in certain menu items. However, another customer found the New Hot Honey Chicken to be overly sweet, overpowering the chili flavors. In contrast, the New Crispy Hot Honey Shrimp was described as perfect, indicating that the sweetness level may vary across different dishes and that some options are well-received for their flavor balance.

Potential Ingredient Concerns:

One significant concern raised by a customer involves the alleged use of "lab-grown chicken" without clear labeling. This customer reported that the chicken had a cardboard-like, chewy texture and lacked the typical flavor of chicken. They further claimed that upon closer inspection, the ingredient did not resemble traditional chicken and was identified online as lab-grown. This review highlights a potential issue with transparency regarding ingredients and the quality of certain protein options. It is important for the restaurant to address such concerns and provide accurate information about their ingredients to ensure customer trust and satisfaction.

Pricing:

Based on one customer's experience, a meal consisting of three plates and two drinks cost over $50. This suggests that Pick Up Stix might be positioned as a mid-range to slightly higher-priced fast-casual dining option. Customers who are not particularly budget-conscious may find the pricing acceptable for the quality and flavors offered (in dishes that are well-received).

Environment and Services:

While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance and dine-in experience are not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, as a typical Chinese restaurant in the fast-casual category, customers can likely expect a casual and functional dining area. Pick Up Stix likely offers services such as takeout and possibly delivery, given the nature of the category and the provided phone numbers for contact. To get a clearer understanding of the dining environment, it would be beneficial to visit the location or check online for photos or additional reviews that might describe the atmosphere.

Features and Potential Promotions:

The introduction of "New" menu items like the Hot Honey Chicken and Crispy Hot Honey Shrimp indicates that Pick Up Stix actively updates its menu and explores new flavor combinations to attract customers. These new offerings could be part of ongoing or limited-time promotions. To stay informed about current specials, discounts, or new menu additions, it is recommended to contact the restaurant directly via phone or check their website or social media channels if available. Exploring their full menu online might also reveal signature dishes or unique offerings that set them apart.

Summary:

Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors in Lakewood, CA, is a Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of Asian-inspired dishes. While some customers have praised the balanced and amazing flavors of certain dishes like the Chicken Pad Thai and the New Crispy Hot Honey Shrimp, there is a significant concern raised regarding the quality and labeling of their chicken, with one review alleging the use of lab-grown chicken without proper disclosure. The pricing appears to be in the mid to upper range for a fast-casual experience. Customers looking for takeout or delivery options can contact them at the provided phone numbers. To gain a better understanding of the restaurant's environment and any current promotions, direct inquiry or further online research is advisable.

For local users in Lakewood and surrounding areas seeking Chinese cuisine, Pick Up Stix presents a convenient option. However, potential customers should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding ingredient quality and consider trying a variety of dishes to form their own opinion on the flavors and value offered. It would be prudent for the restaurant management to address the concerns raised in customer reviews to ensure transparency and maintain a positive reputation within the community.

I took one bite and realized something was off. What was supposed to be white meat chicken was cardboard like, chewy, and no flavor of chicken was to be found. I looked closer at the "chicken" and it looked nothing like chicken up close. So I looked it up and it's lab grown chicken. It's completely wrong to say chicken and not lab grown or cell cultivated. I can't believe this is happening.

The flavors were amazing. The food had a balance of sweet and bitter such as the Chicken Paid Thai. The New Hot Honey Chicken was too sweet and overpowered the chili flavors. However, the New Crispy Hot Honey Shrimp was perfect. For the three plates and 2 drinks it was $50+, If money is not an issue, go and try some of their food.

It’s my first time trying out this place. If you love Chinese or Thai food , this is place. The cashier Rubie was so nice, sweet, and helpful. Helped me pick out my food and suggested different things. The place was clean and there’s plenty of parking.

Its relatively delicious for a fast food chain. I got the beef broccoli last night with extra veggies. It was really delicious and the portion was super fulfilling. My only complaint is that the put wayy to much dressing and the meat was a little chewy to my liking.
