About Phoenix Inn Chinese Cuisine - Los Angeles

Welcome to Phoenix Inn Chinese Cuisine, your local Chinese Restaurant in Los Angeles, CA, offering solid and affordable Chinese cafe fare. Located at 301 Ord St in Chinatown, we pride ourselves on serving generous portions of dishes packed with great flavors.

Our menu features popular items like the delicious duck with steamed buns, a customer favorite, even if the skin wasn't as crispy as some might prefer – a minor point considering the reasonable price. The water spinach with garlic is also highly recommended as a perfect accompaniment, especially when paired with steamed white rice and a touch of the flavorful spinach sauce, soy sauce, and chili sauce.

The service at Phoenix Inn is described as typical cafe service – efficient and friendly, aligning with our affordable pricing. You can expect great casual service alongside authentic Chinese cafe food. We also offer good tea, with our attentive waitresses consistently refilling cups, even allowing guests to linger and chat after their meal, making them feel welcome.

If you're dining with a group, please note that a mandatory tip will be included in your check. Some menu highlights mentioned by our customers include the flavorful garlic and shrimp fried rice and the Chinese sausage fried rice.

We recommend ordering a number of plates equal to the number of people in your party, given our generous portion sizes. If you happen to have leftovers, we provide boxes for easy takeout. Our dining area is clean and spacious, making it a comfortable place to enjoy your meal.

One area for improvement mentioned by a customer was the cleanliness of the restroom, which they felt detracted from the overall experience. We encourage the owner to address this to ensure a perfect experience for all our valued customers.

Overall, Phoenix Inn Chinese Cuisine is a great spot for affordable and tasty Chinese cafe food with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. While perhaps not a destination to travel out of your way for, it's a reliable and satisfying option when you're in the Los Angeles area. Come visit us at 301 Ord St for a flavorful and budget-friendly meal!

Solid Chinese cafe food. The duck with steam buns was delicious. I do wish the skin was crispier but at this price, I am not complaining. The water spinach with garlic was the perfect accompaniment along with steamed white rice. I like to pour the water sauce from the spinach on my rice with a little soy sauce and chili sauce. Yum! The service is typical cafe service. It’s not priced for fine dining so don’t expect fine dining service. It’s great casual cafe style service that comes with great affordable, authentic Chinese cafe food. Good tea and they even sent us home with a treat of mango custard. Will for sure be back when I’m the area but not a go-out-of -your-way spot.

This restaurant is very affordable, every dish looks big and is packed with great flavors. If you come to this place with a group, there is a mandatory tip so don't get surprised by that (it will be included in your check). I got various items from the menu, some of the highlights were the garlic and shrimp fried rice and the Chinese sausage fried rice. The service was great and included tea. My party kept drinking hot tea and the waitress was always on top of it and refilling it. Even when we finished our meal and we were just chatting amongst each other, the waitress still offered tea, it was a very nice gesture and made us feel welcome to stay more. Pending on how much you eat, I recommend getting the number of plates = the number of people in your party. If you cannot finish everything, they offer boxes to take out the rest of your food. I recommend dining in, it is clean and spacious. The only bad thing is that some members of my party went to the bathroom and it was not clean, one of them even said that it ruins part of the experience. For the owner: Please clean the restroom, it would have been a perfect experience.

I'm in love. We are here and service was immediate. The staff was so friendly. The food is delicious. No need for soy sauce. We are having fried rice and Beef Rice Noodles/chow fun. Man is it fun to my pallet. Thank you Phoenix inn.

I ordered the Phoenix BONELESS chicken (half-chicken size). The top layer of my order is boneless chicken. The bottom half layer is a mixture of unseasoned pieces of chicken with bones and bone with little meat. This is frustrating and potentially dangerous for people who expect a full box of boneless chicken and don't eat carefully enough. I hope the manager take care of this soon. I also got the Durian Delight. It is not a smoothie. There are big chunks of ice. And the drink is too sweet. I hope there is an option for adjusting the sweetness.

A few of us in our party either hadn't had Chinese in a long time or were picky when it comes to Chinese cuisine. So if you're that kind of group and looking to experience authentic non-fast food Chinese cuisine, this is the place! We all enjoyed our meal. Recommend the sweet and sour pork, sausage fried rice, and Korean style beef haha. Nice staff!
