About Pho Mekong House of Noodles
Pho Mekong House of Noodles is located at 601 John St, Utica, NY 13501, USA. You can contact them at (315) 797-7171 or +1 315-797-7171. Although the platform category is Chinese Restaurant, customer reviews and menu items mentioned indicate that Pho Mekong House of Noodles offers a range of Vietnamese and Thai cuisine, with a focus on noodle dishes.
One long-time customer who used to visit weekly when living in Utica reported enjoying a significant portion of the menu, listing several favorite dishes identified by codes such as N12, N20, V40, S43, S52, RD54, VEG63, SP2, and SP5. This suggests that the restaurant has had customers who found their food enjoyable and diverse.
However, more recent feedback presents a mixed view. One customer expressed disappointment despite high expectations based on positive reviews. They reported experiencing rude service from a waitress who seemed eager to rush them, even bringing the check before they were halfway through their meal. This indicates potential issues with the service environment.
Regarding the food, this customer found the Pho to be just "ok," not terrible but not the best they had. They also mentioned being served and charged for a jumbo size Pho when they had requested a regular size. The "fresh lemonade" was identified as Minute Maid from a soda machine, which was misleading. Furthermore, their Pad Thai (a Thai dish ordered at this Vietnamese-leaning establishment) was described as a large portion of overcooked noodles with minimal, mediocre sauce and only a few pieces of chicken, essentially being dry noodles. This suggests potential inconsistency in food quality and authenticity, particularly with non-Vietnamese dishes.
The reviews do not provide specific details about the restaurant's ambiance or any current promotional offers. Local users considering Pho Mekong House of Noodles should be aware of the differing opinions, with some past customers having enjoyed the variety of noodle dishes, while more recent experiences highlight concerns about service rudeness, potential upselling without consent, and issues with the quality and authenticity of certain dishes.

Customer Reviews
When I lived in Utica I would come here weekly. I tried to order everything on the menu and got about 80% of the menu before moving. Honestly biggest thing I miss from Utica. I enjoyed everything I ordered. Some of my favorites are N12, N20, V40, S43, S52, RD54, VEG63, SP2 and SP5
I was very excited to try this restaurant by all the rave reviews and I was pretty disappointed… as with all the other bad reviews, I got the miserable waitress who was ridiculously rude. She looked angry I walked in (there were two other people in there) brought my check to rush me out before I had even gotten half way through my meal. The Pho was ok. Not horrible but definitely not the best I’ve had. The waitress gave me the jumbo size and charged me for it without even asking(I asked for regular size) . I also ordered the “fresh lemonade” and it was obviously Minute Maid from a soda machine. I ordered Pad Thai to go, and I guess that’s my bad ordering a Thai meal at a Vietnamese place because that was not pad Thai. It was a large portion of overcooked noodles, 4 pieces of chicken, thrown with some peanuts on top. There was only a little bit of very mediocre sauce, so it is essentially just dry noodles
Great place and really good food. My wife and I met with our son and his wife for dinner. None of us are familiar with the area and chose this place based on the reviews. My son and his wife eat a lot of Vietnamese food and they know what's good and what's not. My wife and I are culinary dulards and have no clue. We went with their recommendations. They loved it and so did we. If you had told me I would enjoy a broth based soup, I would have disagreed. Was I ever wrong. The soup was delicious and loaded with flavor. It seemed reasonably clean. Service was pleasant, and the prices were great for what we got. Will return.
Great stop for authentic Vietnamese dishes. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired but the food makes up for it. Everything we got had an amazingly rich broth. More than worth a visit if you're passing by.
Very good Asian style cuisine. They have Vietnamese and Chinese items. Lots of soups and rice noodle dishes. I prefer lo mein noodles as they are less high glycemic or blood sugar raising. The vegetables are always fresh ,never overcooked. Very helpful with questions or suggestions for food items!
