Pho Hoang

This place isn’t what it used to be. Spring rolls came with dirty shrimp. Wasn’t deveined and there poop all over the rolls. Very unappealing. Pho came out with cilantro despite me asking for none. When brought back out it had half the amount of noodles and a shit ton of onions. Like so many. Maybe 4 pieces of steak. Won’t be coming back here

Joined some colleagues here for lunch. Had a great time talking about the great Pho around Tampa Bay. Had the crab rangunand spring rolls as appetizer. Loved the crabs, great flavor. Rolls where so so. The peanut sauce was lacking something, like more peanuts for my taste buds. Ordered the Chicken Pho Medium, wow is it big. Large must come in a pot! The broth was delicious with right amount of star Anise and fat. The chicken came hand shredded which is best way. The garnishes came in a large family style plate. Service: Was quite slow for lunch time. Although we got there before the big crowd and ordered before everyone else arrived. Atmosphere: chill place, just a typical lunch place atmosphere.

Decided to try this establishment since our usual go-to has been closed. Kevin was our waiter and was courteous and knowledgeable about any questions we had. My husband and I both ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, but I specifically requested no tendon and pork blood in mine. However, I failed to realize that the dish also contained pork ham, but Kevin kindly made the necessary adjustments for me. He then inquired about my dietary restrictions, asking if I was Muslim, which, although well-intentioned, could have been perceived as insensitive. The meat portion was generous, but the broth was excessively greasy for my taste. Perhaps the chef could reduce the amount of chili oil used and serve the cilantro and onions on the side, allowing customers to customize their soup. I would recommend avoiding this establishment during peak hours.

Use to come here when it first opened (around 2015 I believe) and regularly visit. Within the last year service have been lacking. Prices went up and oddly enough the portion size has decreased. I ordered a large bun bo hue to go and barely had any noodles in it but plenty of veggies. The portion was comparable to getting a baby size pho. Really disappointing to have it turn out this way.

First time here and it was a great experience from beginning to end. The service was amazing and the food was excellent!! I definitely recommend this restaurant!
