About PHO 88

Please be aware that PHO 88, based on the provided information from the USA, appears to be a Vietnamese restaurant, despite offering dishes like Pad Thai which has Thai origins and is sometimes found in Chinese restaurant menus. This introduction will present the restaurant based on customer reviews of its Vietnamese cuisine for local users in Singapore who might be interested in this type of food.

PHO 88 is a restaurant that recently underwent a name change, previously known as Pho Vy. This change seems to have impacted the perception and quality of some of its dishes, according to customer reviews.

In terms of service, one customer noted that the service was "so fast" during a quiet period. However, the speed of service did not correlate with the quality of the food in this instance.

Regarding the food, reviews indicate a decline in quality and authenticity compared to when the restaurant was under its previous name. One customer who ordered the Beef Pad Thai was "so disappointed" with the lack of flavor, sparse bean sprouts, and the use of different noodles, especially considering the price. They compared it unfavorably to Pad Thai from "China Rose," suggesting PHO 88's version did not meet expectations.

Another long-time customer expressed disappointment over the change in the "Vietnamese egg rolls," stating that the current version is "nothing close to the same" as the ones they previously loved. They also found the price of $5 for two small pork egg rolls to be "ridiculous." Furthermore, their Beef and Onion Vermicelli Bowl was missing peanuts, despite confirming with the staff that it would be prepared the same way. The customer felt that the prices, totaling $21 for the vermicelli and two egg rolls, were "insane" and concluded that the restaurant had "just turned into a mediocre food spot sadly."

The reviews do not provide specific details about the environment of PHO 88. However, the focus of the feedback is primarily on the food quality and the changes since the name change.

Similarly, there is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users in Singapore would need to check local listings or contact the restaurant directly (if a branch exists here) for any current promotions or special offers.

In conclusion, while PHO 88 offers dishes like Beef Pad Thai that might be found in some Chinese restaurants, it is primarily a Vietnamese restaurant that has received negative feedback regarding the quality and authenticity of some of its key dishes, particularly since its name change from Pho Vy. Potential customers in Singapore should be aware of these recent criticisms regarding flavor, ingredients, and pricing based on the available reviews from the San Antonio location.

First time trying this place since it changed name. I ordered Beef Pad Thai, service was so fast by that time because because only 0ne table with people eating.when i get home, i was so disappointed on the food, lack of flavor, barely have bean sprout on it, noodles used is different.i paid $16 something just for this. China Rose Pad Thai is way way better than this and cheaper. Not coming back to ordee here.

I used to order from here when it was called pho vy. Didn’t realize the changed the name but with that I still hoped it would taste the same, I was mistaken. I LOVED their Vietnamese egg rolls, whatever they have now listed as “Vietnamese egg roll” is nothing close to the same. I was so disappointed and sad that they no longer make them. And charging $5 for just two small pork egg rolls is ridiculous. I used to always get the beef and onion vermicelli bowl. I even made sure to ask that they still made it the same with peanuts, cucumbers, onions and the guy on the phone said yes but when I got home I noticed no peanuts were in the plate at all. $21 for vermicelli noodles and two small egg rolls is insane. Honestly this place has just turned into a mediocre food spot sadly.

Came by this restaurant because the wife loves pho. The service was fast. Ordered the food was brought to us under ten minutes . The atmosphere was quite nice and music playing in the background. Food is good enough to come back for seconds 😋

Went for the 1st time tonight. Everything was good! I ordered the pho 88 special and my husband ordered a stew bowl. He didn't know it was spicy lol so we switched bowls. The wait staff was nice and food came out in less than 10 mins. Overall good experience.
