About Phat Phat

Great food! My favorite were the szechuan soup dumplings, an absolutely must try! Definitely check out the dry chili chicken as well.

1. ⚠️The food is served in an unsanitary environment. There were foreign particles floating in the water that just been brought to us, and the cup for my alcoholic drink had mysterious white residue on it. When I asked the staff what it was, they couldn’t answer and simply said it was safe to drink. The manager eventually apologized, saying that they had mistakenly used the cup that had been used elsewhere, which made me even more uncomfortable. It makes me wonder how they manage their utensils. 2. There is a serious communication barrier with the staff. I don’t expect the waiter to speak perfect English, but basic communication should be possible. When I complained about the residue on my cup, the waiter mumbled and couldn’t explain what it was. He just kept repeating that it was safe to drink. 3. The taste of the dim sum is significantly worse than that of nearby dim sum restaurants. The shrimp and pork in the dim sum had no flavor whatsoever. The ingredients didn’t seem fresh, and it’s clear that this restaurant does not invest in quality ingredients.

Went to this restaurant with my coworkers on a recent business trip to St Charles Illinois. My hotel was in St Charles while my colleagues were staying in Schaumburg. We were in the mood for Thai Cuisine and when we looked up Thai cruise we found this restaurant. I followed my colleagues who were staying in Schaumburg just so that we could all tryout this restaurant. On our way to the restaurant one of my colleagues who is foodie kept saying this restaurant has very good reviews. Another colleague said let’s try the food first. OMG we were not disappointed the food was so good! For me it was worth the 30 minutes drive to and from the restaurant. For my next business trip to St Charles, I think I am going to book my hotel in Schaumburg so that I can easily visit this restaurant again. They had an open concept kitchen where you could view the Chef through a glass as they prepared the ingredients that was really cool.

Very beautiful place, I love the minimal yet industrial look of the interior. The staff was super sweet. Everyone was so attentive and kind, they just seem like genuinely kind people, especially our waitress. Food was good, could be better. I felt the dumplings were a bit too thick..dough wise. The fried rice tasted good but the look wasn't so nice. The banana spring rolls and the garlic chicken wings were the best.

The place reeked of a terrible smell when we came in. However, we still decided to sample a few dumpling dishes since we were already there. Worst decision. Wonton had little filling and doughy wrappers. Shen jiang bao had no broth inside and a raw mushy bottom. Xiao long bao were pathetic: again with the thick, mushy wrappers and no soy sauce with ginger to accompany. Now the worst thing is all these dishes came out cold instead of piping hot like they should. Service was also terrible. It was so hard to flag down our waiter for anything despite the place being not busy at all.
