Food and staff were great. I put captions for the photos any additional comments were food related. It was great overall. Only cautionary advice If you order tea be mindful to not tough the pot anywhere but the handle. It was HOT HOT and could likely burn you if touched. Order a cup of ice maybe to cool the tea off. I am a Peter Chang veteran, having been to at least 8 Peter Chang restaurants, and in my long tour of duty I have seen many things... Spices you wouldn't believe, garlic eggplants with flavor profiles of the golden ratio... One thing I haven't seen yet is a location as underrated as this. A quality homestyle Mapo Tofu for $12 feels like stealing. The duck in stone pot, an underrated gem with a rich mushroomy broth complimented by a tasteful spice undercurrent... For those wise in the ways of spice, this is a home not to be forgotten.

Visited 12/7/24 both the Orange chicken & Gen tso look & taste exactly the same. The servers tells the difference by the cook putting orange slices on the plate. The Shrimp Lomein was good. All three dishes came out luke warm. The veggie egg rolls tasted like grease.

I used to be a regular Peter Chang take out consumer but starting last year, the quality of the food was horrible and I stopped going there. This week I decided to give this restaurant another chance, and I am glad I did! Food was outstanding and up to the quality that made Peter Chang famous. I am guessing they have new personnel preparing the food, and they are doing an excellent job. Everything ordered was delicious and I plan to return again to my routine of placing take out orders on a regular basis.

It has been a while since coming here, as I recall, the last visit wasn’t too great. In between, about a year ago I tried the Charlottesville location and it was the worse I’ve tried yet. So, for the past few years when seeking authentic Szechuan food, I’ve been driving up to Szechuan Taste in Dale City (which is amazing, BTW!) or up to Arlington, Fairfax, etc. Some of the best I’ve ever had came from Szechuan Taste in Dale City, Chengdu Gourmet in Pittsburgh, and the best yet has been from Sichuan House in San Antonio (yeah, I ate Szechuan instead of tacos when in the Taco Capital!)!! Recently I was in the area of Central Park and was yearning for authentic Szechuan, so I decided to give this location another try… I got Christine as a server and she was great! She not only knew the menu, she understood the authenticity of Szechuan food versus the typical American Chinese food (General Tso’s, sweet & sour fried stuff, etc). I simply asked for cumin chicken and was given an AMAZING dish loaded with flavor… all the flavors I yearn for when desiring this style of food. Prices are great here too, as I ordered the diner portion, not the lunch portion and it was only like $16 for a large amount of food. I’ll definitely return and ask for Christine next time too, to ensure I’m getting my food made right! Definitely would recommend to those who know and seek authentic Szechuan to hear what you think of it.
