Didn't know this place was here and a search for Good Chinese brought this up. The reviews I read were very mixed. But I decided to give it a try. I went on a Friday night about 6:30 pm. There were many, many available seats. I was seated near a window and noticed the place seemed a bit run down. My booth had cracked vinyl seats. Carpet seemed worn, and when I was in the restroom, it was very rusty. But nevertheless I was hoping for a good meal. The server was nice, attentive, and eager to answer any of my questions. I like a lot of spice, so he suggested some dishes and said he could have them adjust the heat level. Ultimately chose the Sichuan chili wontons and three pepper chicken, with brown rice. And I have to say, both were delicious!! The wontons were a little heavy on the salt, but still tasty, and my chicken dish was really flavorful, especially with the added red chili peppers and the chili paste that was brought to the table. They also had some drink specials like 2 for 1 beers, which I took advantage of. Beer and Chinese, natural great combo! Also loved their brown rice!! By the time I was ready to leave, about 8 pm, the restaurant had gained a few patrons, but was still over 50% empty. So I wonder how long they can keep going. But all in all, my food was delicious, my waiter was great, and I would not hesitate to go back. I hope they're still open the next time I'm in the mood. Added note: I went back and had the riblets as an appetizer and the same tree pepper chicken as my entree. Posted pics. The food is really good here!

Disappointed with the food. We ordered many different dishes. All were piping hot in the inside and cold outside. My plate was broken and my cup chipped. Very unsatisfied with the food. However, on another note our server Angela was very attentive and apologetic. Her service was good.

I visited Peter Chang with my family last night, and unfortunately, it wasn’t the best dining experience. While the food had some high points, there were several issues that made the evening less enjoyable. One of the main concerns was the timing of the dishes—our food came out at different intervals, which left some of us with cold dishes by the time everything arrived. The restaurant’s aesthetic was decent, though hearing Latin music in a Chinese restaurant was a bit surprising. While it’s not something I’d typically expect, I assume there was a reason for this choice. It didn’t exactly add to the experience for me, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker either. Our server was very kind and did her best, but there seemed to be a bit of a language barrier. I’ll give grace on that because learning takes time, and she was as helpful as she could be. As for the food, the flounder in hot chili oil soup was the standout dish. The fish was soft and mushy—perhaps that’s the intended texture—but it was seasoned wonderfully, with bold, spicy flavors, and arrived piping hot. I’d rate it a solid 4.5/5 and would definitely recommend it. The orange chicken was plated beautifully but lacked much flavor, making it an okay dish rather than memorable. The Golden Mountain chicken could have been great, but it arrived somewhat cold, which detracted from the overall experience. On the other hand, the dumplings and fried flounder were well-prepared, striking the perfect balance between softness and crunchiness. Overall, Peter Chang provided an okay experience, but it wouldn’t be my top choice for hosting family or grabbing a quick bite. The long wait for food and lack of consistency in temperature were disappointing, especially given how the restaurant was when it first opened. With a few adjustments, it could reclaim its former reputation, but as it stands now, I’d consider other options before returning.

Good Chinese food restaurant near Stamford mall. Service was very fast and had sufficiently good portion size. There is ample seating space. Some food might be really spicy (3 chillies on the menu), but you can request a lower spice level. We tried fried flounder fish in small plates and General tso, golden mountain chicken and shrimp fried rice as main course. Definitely worth trying and revisiting
