Pete's Fish & Chips

I'm visiting Phoenix for the first time I researched Pete's Fish and Chips before showing up. They are as proud of this establishment as El Paso is proud to call Chico's Tacos their own. I knew in advance you have to eat outside at a picnic table and that you are to eat with your hands. No plastic ware is provided. It is cash only. I ordered the #2 special (2 fish, 7 shrimp, fries and a 32 oz. Drink. I paid an upcharge for substituting onion rings for fries. I asked for a magnet souvenir and the girl asked "nuts or no nuts?" I told her a magnet like you stick on a refrigerator, not a brownie. It took 3 tries to get the magnet. It was free. Although it took a while for the order, it was hot and fresh. I expected some tartar sauce but instead received 3 cocktail sauces. It worked. The fish were small and square, like McDonald's. The shrimp were a breaded strip that contained small shrimp. The printed hype didn't match reality. San Antonio easily has better chain establishments, like J. Anthony's or Sea Island. I was greatly disappointed.

Prices are good! The breaded items I got were amazing. Fish, nuggets, shrimp wow definitely reorder. The fries and burger and corn dog was generic I'd skip them next time. But all that for like $30. Pete's sauce is kinda spicy but it was good! So I came back 2 hrs drive away and the service was still amazing and they even gave us two stickers. Food is fresh and tasty. This is great priced good food.

Food is ok. Just want to try. Expect that all deep fried food with super thick breading. Serving is large for my order. Fast order and service. Covered but very open seating area. There's a good flow of customers when I was there. Parking is more than enough. Cash only by the way. They have an ATM IN FRONT.

RAW DISGUSTING FOOD Went thru the drive thru yesterday and ordered 2 of the 3-piece fish, and when I got home there was practically no French Fries on my plate. What's up with that? I go there because you are usually not stingy with you Fries but today at lunch time you were. VERY dissonated in Petes yesterday. Disgusting food that is NOT cooked at the way. 3/14/25 Again, I went to Petes and I don't know if it's the workers at this location or what but the food sucks. Again, no fries on my plate and the fish weren't Fully cooked, it was RAW. Yuck we threw away our food, because we could have gotten sick if we ate it. We will NEVER EAT AT PETES again. They lost customers for LIFE. Nasty food. Dont EAT HEREl

3/7/24 $7 three piece, fish and chips. Fast friendly service! Fry’s and fish was hot and fresh. Their sauce is amazing! Highly recommend visiting Pete’s Fish and chips :-)
