About Peking Wok
Peking Wok is a Chinese restaurant located at 525 Constitution Ave in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. Customer reviews regarding this establishment are notably polarized. One long-time resident, who has lived in the area since 1994, considers the food to be "the best" and states that any wait, even on a Saturday night, is worthwhile. This reviewer praises both the food and the prices as "top notch" and expresses a strong preference for Peking Wok over other local options.
In stark contrast, another recent customer reported extreme disappointment with their experience. Despite being initially told of a 10-minute wait, they waited for over 30 minutes. They also noted that the establishment appears to be solely for takeout, lacking any seating, with boxes of alcohol company logos stacked where tables might have been. Furthermore, they found the food to be a "major letdown," describing the dishes as overcooked, lacking flavor, and not meeting the expected quality of a good Chinese restaurant. This reviewer concluded by stating they would not recommend Peking Wok and would not return.
Given these strongly opposing views, potential customers should be aware that experiences at Peking Wok may vary significantly. While one long-term patron holds it in high regard, a recent visitor reported substantial issues with wait times, the lack of a dining area, and the quality of the food. Im not sure what the other people who are rating this place less than five stars are used to or if they are just dumb but this food is the best and I have lived here since 1994 . I have never had a longer wait even on a Saturday night than any other place around and any wait is worth it when you taste this food. The folks that have rated this place less than five stars are nuts. The food and prices are top notch and I don't go anywhere else. I assume people that have a great experience are not doing these reviews - only the idiots. I hope they don't come back because this is absolutely the best place around here by far.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Peking Wok. After being told there would be a 10-minute wait, my party and I were forced to sit and wait for over 30 minutes - an unacceptable amount of time that really put a damper on what was supposed to be a pleasant experience after seeing such good reviews and us telling them we were in a time crunch. Unfortunately, when the food was finally ready, it was a major letdown as well. There is nowhere to sit in the establishment, making it only for takeout. There were boxes on top of boxes all with alcohol company logos just sitting where tables may have been at one point. The dishes we ordered were overcooked, lacking flavor, and overall, not even close to the quality we would expect from a GOOD Chinese restaurant. For a place with such a bold name, Peking Wok fell far short of its promise, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Never again.
Best Chinese food in town! Cheap prices and big portions. Tasty and filling! Been a fan for over a decade.
Ordered food? Told you 10 minutes? Add an extra 10. Then another 10. Maybe another 20 minutes. T I M E is precious and they stole mine! The morning after, I had diarrhea so bad that it affected my efficiency at work!
Used to be my go-to place in town but things have changed a lot. I have my same order and they used to have very good General Tao’s chicken. Used to be a darker brown sauce with nice meaty pieces of chicken. Today I ordered and it was like grilled chicken strips in an orange sauce. I called them when I got home to ask if anything changed and they said no… look at the pictures you can clearly see there is a big change from the past. ALLERGY WARNING: They put peanut in certain dishes that don’t normally have it and don’t disclose it. Tonight my wife and I tasted a strong flavor of peanut in the lo mein. I also asked about this and they said yes they use peanut sauce in their lo mein. Like… what?! So many people have severe peanut allergies!!!! If you look it up lo mein doesn’t usually have peanut in it. I’ve been to tons of Chinese restaurants and never had peanut in lo mein. This is potentially VERY dangerous. Very sad this place went downhill. Oh to top it all off this used to be about $25 to feed 2 people and today it was up to $33. Prices up and quality significantly down!
