About Peking Sunrise Restaurant and Lounge

Peking Sunrise Restaurant and Lounge is situated at 1179 Eastman Rd in Center Conway, NH 03813, USA. They can be contacted by phone at (603) 356-6976 or via their mobile number +1 603-356-6976. Categorized as a Chinese restaurant with a lounge, Peking Sunrise aims to provide a dining experience that combines traditional Chinese cuisine with a relaxed lounge atmosphere.

As a Chinese restaurant, Peking Sunrise likely offers a diverse menu featuring popular Chinese-American dishes. Customers can typically expect a range of appetizers, such as spring rolls, dumplings, and crab rangoons, along with various soups and main courses. These main dishes often include options like fried rice, lo mein, and a variety of meat, poultry, and seafood preparations, such as General Tso's chicken, Kung Pao shrimp, and beef with broccoli. The inclusion of a lounge suggests that the establishment may also offer a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, potentially creating a space for socializing and relaxation in addition to dining.

The available customer reviews present contrasting perspectives on Peking Sunrise Restaurant and Lounge. One reviewer shared a positive experience, particularly highlighting the restaurant's ability to handle a challenging situation. Despite being "swamped" due to a power outage affecting the area and operating with only two waitresses, this customer felt that the restaurant met the challenges exceptionally well. They noted a long wait time, attributed to the high volume of both dine-in and takeout orders, suggesting that the restaurant is a popular choice for those seeking food during such events. The reviewer praised their waitress for maintaining a great attitude despite some difficult customers and mentioned that they were served food and drinks promptly and with a smile. Furthermore, they found their meals to be "very good" with generous portions that allowed for leftovers.

This positive review indicates that Peking Sunrise is capable of providing good food and service, even under pressure. The fact that many people turned to this restaurant during a widespread power outage suggests a local reputation for reliable and satisfying meals. The praise for the waitress's attitude and efficiency, as well as the quality and quantity of the food, are positive indicators of the dining experience that Peking Sunrise can offer.

However, another customer had a significantly negative experience, stating that it was "by far the worst 'chinese' food i have ever had." While acknowledging that the building looked "cool," this reviewer found the food to be "absolutely terrible." They spent $57 on house lo mein, General Tso chicken, and crab rangoon and were not impressed. The only item they found acceptable was the rangoon, but even then, they were disappointed to find that no sauce was included when they returned to their hotel. The reviewer described the lo mein as "bland and tasteless with no sauce" and the General Tso chicken as "dry chicken" also lacking sauce. Based on this experience, they strongly recommended against dining at Peking Sunrise and stated that they would not be returning.

This starkly negative review raises serious concerns about the consistency and quality of the food at Peking Sunrise. The issues with blandness, lack of sauce, and overall poor taste described by this customer are significant drawbacks. The fact that even the one acceptable item (crab rangoon) was incomplete due to missing sauce further contributed to a negative impression.

The contrast between these two reviews highlights the potential for variability in the dining experience at Peking Sunrise Restaurant and Lounge. While one customer found the food and service commendable even under difficult circumstances, another experienced a meal that they considered to be of very poor quality.

For local users considering Peking Sunrise, it is important to weigh these differing opinions. The positive review suggests that the restaurant is capable of handling busy periods and providing satisfactory food and service. The negative review, however, points to potential issues with the flavor and preparation of some dishes, as well as attention to detail regarding accompanying sauces.

The information provided does not offer specific details about the restaurant's environment beyond the mention of a "lounge," which implies a more relaxed and perhaps dimly lit setting compared to a typical fast-casual restaurant. The presence of a lounge might suggest that it's a place where people can enjoy drinks and appetizers in a more social atmosphere.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in potential specials or discounts would need to contact the restaurant directly.

In conclusion, Peking Sunrise Restaurant and Lounge in Center Conway, NH, offers Chinese cuisine in an establishment that includes a lounge area. Customer reviews present a mixed picture, with one praising the restaurant's ability to handle a busy situation and providing good food and service, while another found the food to be exceptionally poor in quality, lacking flavor and essential components like sauces. Potential local customers should consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to dine at Peking Sunrise and might benefit from seeking more recent reviews or perhaps trying a small order initially to gauge the current quality.

Despite them being swamped due to a power outage affecting many towns w no power and only two waitresses on duty I feel this restaurant met the challenges exceptionally. We had a long wait time due to this and their take out business was huge. Seems like everyone recognized where they could get great food pretty quickly and headed here. Our waitress maintained a great attitude even though some customers were kind of slow and annoying. We were served food and drinks promptly and with a smile. Our meals were very good and plenty to take home for leftovers.

I hate to say this ( I almost didn't leave a review but I don't want other people to go through this), but this was by far the worst "chinese" food i have ever had. The building looks cool and all, but the food was absolutely terrible. I spent 57 dollars on house lomien, general tso chicken and crab Rangoon and was not impressed. The only good thing out of this dinner was the Rangoon but once I got back to my hotel I realized they didn't even include sauce for them. The lo mien is bland and tasteless with no sauce and again the tso had no sauce. Just dry chicken. 10/10 would not recommend and I do NOT plan on giving them my returned buisness.

Excellent service and great Chinese food. I cannot vouche and say for sure that the food is all home made, but I will say it doesn't taste like generic Chinese food from just anywhere. I'm looking forward to the left overs and will come again next time I am in North Conway. I would recommend the crab ragoon to those that like crab ragoon.

We stopped in for lunch and feel like we've discovered a new "favorite place." The food was reasonably priced, served quickly and very tasty. Our server was super friendly. All in all a great stop! Can't wait to go back.

I hate saying, but this was among the worst Chinese restaurants we've been to. It's over 50 years old & looks it. Service was fine. Food quality was just pretty bad. My spouse is Chinese & he wasn't impressed either. Scallion Pancakes were decent but what the hell was that sauce? So gross. along with the soups, but that was it. If an effort is put in in a total clean up..gross carpet tacky, decor and general redo, it might work better. Having decent Chinese chefs would certainly help.
