About Peking Restaurant

Welcome to Peking Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 319 East Blvd, Williamston, NC 27892, USA. Serving the Williamston community, Peking Restaurant currently operates primarily as a takeout-only establishment, a service model that has been in place since the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers can place their orders by calling (252) 792-1612 or +1 252-792-1612, or potentially through online ordering, and can expect their food to be ready for pickup within approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at Peking Restaurant offer a mixed perspective on the food quality, while service has been generally viewed positively. One reviewer shared their experience with a plate that included pork fried rice, an egg roll, wonton soup, and chicken. They found the pork fried rice to be "so plain" and lacking flavor, noting it was "loaded with onions" but missing sauce. In contrast, the chicken and egg roll were described as "good." The wonton soup was also reported as "flavorless." Despite these criticisms of the food's taste, the reviewer acknowledged that the service was "good" and the portion sizes were "great." They concluded that Peking Restaurant was "good to try but not my go to place," indicating a somewhat average experience overall, with room for improvement in flavor profiles.

Another reviewer, who expressed a fondness for Peking Restaurant as an "occasional Chinese food fix," corroborated the information about the change in service model. They explicitly stated that "ever since COVID it has been takeout only. No buffet anymore or dining in, you just call in or order online and swing by within 15 or 20mins and get your food." This confirms that the restaurant's current operations are focused solely on providing takeout service, and that previous options such as a buffet and dine-in are temporarily or permanently unavailable.

Considering these reviews, Peking Restaurant in Williamston, NC, is currently operating as a takeout-focused Chinese restaurant. Customers can expect quick service and generous portion sizes. However, feedback on the food quality is mixed. While some items like the chicken and egg rolls have been positively received, other dishes, such as the pork fried rice and wonton soup, have been described as lacking flavor. The pork fried rice was also noted for being heavily loaded with onions and missing sauce.

The temporary or permanent discontinuation of the buffet and dine-in options is a significant change in the restaurant's service model, likely impacting the overall experience for regular patrons who may have previously enjoyed these features. The current process involves placing orders via phone or online and picking them up within a short timeframe.

As a Chinese restaurant, Peking Restaurant likely offers a standard menu of popular Chinese-American dishes. Based on the reviews, their offerings include pork fried rice, egg rolls, wonton soup, and various chicken dishes. It is reasonable to assume that they also serve other common items such as lo mein, chow mein, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and a selection of appetizers and soups. However, the specific details of their menu and any specialty dishes are not provided in the given feedback.

The quick service mentioned by one reviewer suggests that Peking Restaurant aims for efficiency in preparing and fulfilling takeout orders, which can be a significant advantage for customers seeking a fast meal option.

The generous portion sizes are another positive aspect highlighted in the feedback, indicating that customers are likely to receive good value in terms of the amount of food provided for the price.

However, the recurring theme of bland or flavorless dishes, particularly the pork fried rice and wonton soup, is a key area for potential improvement. Flavor is a critical component of customer satisfaction in any cuisine, and addressing these concerns could significantly enhance the overall perception of the food at Peking Restaurant.

Since the provided information does not mention anything about the restaurant's environment (beyond the fact that dine-in and buffet are currently unavailable), it is not possible to describe the ambiance or decor. Similarly, there is no information regarding any current promotional offers or specials that Peking Restaurant might be running.

In conclusion, Peking Restaurant in Williamston, NC, currently operates as a takeout-only Chinese restaurant offering quick service and generous portions. While some dishes like the chicken and egg rolls have been well-received, others, such as the pork fried rice and wonton soup, have been criticized for lacking flavor. The restaurant has discontinued its buffet and dine-in services. Local users looking for a quick Chinese takeout option in Williamston may find Peking Restaurant worth trying, but should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding the flavor of certain dishes.

We love this place for the occasional Chinese food fix, but every since COVID it has been takeout only. No buffet anymore or dining in, you just call in or order online and swing by within 15 or 20mins and get your food.
